------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun shines down through the leaves of our mother as I watch Dream picking berries. 'Dream has been having bad dreams every night to where he is screaming to someone apologizes. Something had to have happened before I woke up. But what could have happened?' I snap my head up having something pulling me out of my revere.

I feel like I was punched in the gut having sensed a large wave of sadness from the direction of Dream....

I see Dream hunched over grabbing his chest and crying as he looks desperately to hold back tears. I sprint over and slide down to my knees Infront of him.

"DREAM, Dream are you okay?!?"

I scan him over for injuries along with anything that could have triggered his mentally fragile brother. Finding no injuries, I brought him into a tight hug hiding him away from the world.

"I-It was all MY fault, I'm so sorry!!"  He leans against me and holds onto my shirt.

Dream again had this far away look in his eyelights like he was not seeing what was around him. 'Oh, he is having another episode, okay, okay, gotta calm him down then find out what happened.' Remembering what always seems to calm him down, I rub over his knuckles and tuck him into my chest, hiding him away from the world.

"Dream, can you hear me?"

He seems to jolt in my arms and then silently nods his head. "Can you walk? I want to get us back to mom." He lets out an almost silent whine and shakes his head no.

'Ah, Right now he is still not fully here; he seems still really spacey'

"Okay Dream, I am going to turn around and can you hook your arms around my head? I am going to try to carry you back"

He did a little nod and that was enough for me. I turn my back to him he hooks his arms around my neck and I picked him up.  While I am walking I feel him lightly knocking his skull against mine like he was failing at staying awake.

"Dream, are you okay?"

He gave a hum of in the positive as he tightened his hug against my neck. When we reached the base of our mother, I gently sat him down and plopped down beside him. Dream scoots closer and leans against me and immediately falls asleep.

'Huh, I guess that tired him out.'

'But the real question is what set him off? Whenever he gets like this, he always becomes really distant. He never wants to talk about it unprompted, and when I ask he always looks so uncomfortable.'

'I need to find out what happened and help him get better. I will figure this out. I just need more information, but I can't ask him out right, due to him getting distant and panicking.'

I hug him closer and make myself a mental promise

'I will protect you and mom no matter what. I am not going to let you fall for what seems like a second time.'
