Chapter 1

Hello, I'm Annalise Caustaryn, I'm a soldier for the black snakes in the gifted troop. A war has been raging on for 20 years. It all started when the great western kingdom of Audaryn was ambushed by Audaryn's ancient rivals Gintaryn, the kingdom of greed, fighting broke out with the western most kingdoms and the southern kingdom. my home Caustaryn the kingdom of love and beauty was the first kingdom to volunteer and join in the fighting. Of course my mother, being the queen of Caustaryn, was pushed into the fighting. I was 14 when mothers right hand man came back home with a message for my father. I remember my fathers face that day he was distraught for mother was killed in battle. After that everything changed of course, me being the eldest living heir to the throne I was immediately pushed into power and at the age of 16 I too was enlisted into the black snakes along with my little brother Kenji.
SCREECH! The train screeched to a halt as the guards opened the doors and let us out as I stepped out of the train car I was immediately blinded.
"Welcome new recruits to the kingdom of Altrench this is where we will be training and living for three months so make yourself at home girls tents are at the back boys tents are at the front," lieutenant Berckshow shouted to us, "oh and can I please see soldier 2717, 2831, and Caustaryn in my tent,"
Me, Saylor , and Jeremiah followed lieutenant Berckshow to his tent at the very back of the boys' tents. "As you guys know I'm Lieutenant Berckshow I'm just going to be straight with you. I don't care about your numbers, they are not important to me anyway you two," he said pointing at Jeremiah  and Saylor .
"I'm Saylor and this is Jeremiah ," she said pointing at her then Jeremiah.
"Yes well Saylor, Jeremiah, and Caustaryn I asked you three down here because it seems like you three are very skilled warriors and well you being the queen and all we well we being me were wondering if you would help lead the troops," he asked.
"Why do you need help leading the troops?" I asked warily.
He sighed, "well all the other lieutenants are off in other kingdoms with commander Dax trying to calm the uprising in the north so I need help with training plus Caustaryn you have to lead the troops anyway seeing as your the queen," he explained.
"I'm in," Jeremiah said plainly.
"Me too," Saylor exclaimed.
"Well I guess I haven't got much of a choice so I'm in," I said slightly bored of the conversation.

I'm just going to publish this even though I don't think I should so I might unpublished this chapter at some point or edit it or something but for now here you go. Thx bye
