WHAT ever it was, it was coming fast, and was coming straight for her. Arden was shaking as she has never seen anything like this before. Only in a few moments she watched the large thing fly across the blue sky with a rocketing sound following it.
Red and green things, that looked almost like tarps, slowed down the large object before it carshed. It wasn't too far from here. Arden fell on her knees when it impacted earth, the ground vibrating. With a gasp she watched the crows fly out of the trees in surprise.
She let a few minutes pass before getting up, heart pounding in curiosity and fear. Arden took one more glance at the river before running away from the water. She ran up the hill and in only a few minutes she reached the flower patch. The girl stopped and looked around to try to see or smell smoke, yet couldn't find anything. Arden furrowed her eyebrows and gracefully climbed up a thick tree.
Sitting on a sturdy branch, the view of the valley was astonishing. Smoke was rising in the distance, which meant what ever was coming from the sky had landed. Arden grabbed the bark and nimbly climbed down the tree. She left the tree and jogged closer to the crash site.
It did not take her long to find it, especially with the yelling of people. Arden didn't come too close to crash site, she didn't want anyone to know that she was here. As Arden walked cautiously towards the crash site, the yelling sounded like cheering.
She looked around her, she had never been in this part of the woods. When ever she reached the familiar river she would start to head back because it was a long hike back to Ton D.C. But Arden didn't turn back to start her journey home like she should have. Instead she watched behind a tree as a teenager in a green jacket ran freely.
Her heart was beating fast in her chest, what clan were they from? Another group of teenagers were happily dancing near a smoking metal box. Then it hit her strongly, like a blow to the head. They weren't from a colony, they lived on the Ark.
The Ark. That was a tricky topic with everyone that was in her camp. The Ark was for the rich, when the radiation attack came they sent people to space for a large amount of money to survive. So the people couldn't afford it had to stay on the ground, they basically left us here to die. Arden bawled her fists up angrily, the stories that her parents would tell her suddenly spitting into her mind.
She remembered when she was younger one night where there was a meteorite shower, but only they weren't meteorites. They were bodies and they were all dead. A group had gone out the next morning to check it out, Arden remembered their puzzled faces when they came back.
The cheerful hooting brought her out of her mind and back to reality. Arden's breathing became more intense as the minute wore on. She tugged on her fur coat before deciding on what to do. Being her curious self, Arden moved onwards, being careful not to draw any attention to herself.
At least five metres from her was a tall tree that would give her a good view over the landing site. The only problem was that in the five meters were no trees, so she would have to sprint to get to it. Arden took a few breaths before leaping through the empty path. She scrambled up the tree, gabbing onto the thick branches and heaved herself onto a fork.
Arden put herself in a comfortable position on the hard bark. She was right, it was a gorgeous view. Below her was the group of happy teenagers, the large metal box that they came from space in was still smoking. She watched a woman with blonde hair sit by the box, glancing over a piece of paper. She was looking at a map, a darker coloured friend joined her side.
Arden got bored of looking at them so she let her eyes flicker throughout the site. Everyone was the same, doing the same thing; jumping around and yelling or socializing. A large group of boys holding makeshift spears slauntered over to the blonde female and dark male, who was also joined by a boy with goggles. It looked like a fight was staring, and Arden was on the edge of her seat.
