ARDEN smirked as she watched two boys in the hunting party behind her carry the prized deer. She found herself in the middle of the group; comfortable and cocky. She didn't have to fight for her position here like she did back in Ton D.C.

She enjoyed their victory walk back to camp, which was going to take a while. She watched how Bellamy joked around with his pals. Arden was no longer happy. Her lip quivered and she looked down. It's been a long time since she's laughed. Laughed so hard that her belly ached. It made her reminisce her sister, Lexa.

Arden wondered that maybe Lexa missed her too. Arden didn't have any family besides her and Lincoln (although he wants very jokey), and in a way saw Anya as a mother figure. There was no time were nothing wasn't serious. She wanted to be relaxed as Bellamy was, she wanted to joke around and be happy. But she couldn't afford that.

She was on earth, and earth was a dangerous place. She noticed, while's others would obviously not, that they were entering Maun Weather's territory. She waited for the alarm to give them enough time to run before some defence mechanism could come and kill them.

And Arden was right. A large fog horn blew throughout the valley, A trikru guard, who couldn't be far away. Arden's lips parted in anticipation. She smelt it before she saw it. Acid fog.

The group stopped marching in curiosity as the horn bellowed throughout the forest. The tree's stood sturdy and unaffected by what was going to happen next. Arden's heart beat raced fast, her standing pace now becoming walking up to Bellamy.

"What does that mean?" Someone whispered between the group.

"We need to go," Arden commanded to Bellamy.

Bellamy was about to say something back, but Charlotte screamed. Behind them, a large cloud of yellow smoke flushed through the forest heading straight to them. Arden twisted, knowing that ahead there were caves and they would be safe. She had hid there once before.

"Run!" Bellamy shouted, the hunting party picked up their pace after their leader.

Arden didn't look behind her to see if the others were following. She didn't care. She needed to stay alive. She wasn't going to die from flesh-burning acid fog. If she was going to die (she had finalized this after her parents death) it would be by going down in a fight or sacrificing herself for something important.

She ran left as rock formations appeared. Scampering up a small hill, she continued her way into a dark cave. In the distance she winced as she heard others screaming in agonizing pain due to the fog. Her chest heaved from not only running but also from fear. The cave was cool and damp. She leaned against the rocky wall, jumping from its wet touch.

Arden's eyes adjusted to the darkness, only to find it wasn't so dark. Small bioluminescent fungi grew from the wall, brighting up the small cavern room, smacking everything slick and shiny. There was a jut-out behind her, and to the right near the entrance to the back cavern was a dip that almost looked like a uncomfortable bench.

Her eyes flickered back to the entrance as she heard footsteps and voices entering the mouth of the cave. She hoped they didn't continue to the back. She wanted to be alone. She knew they would have to wait out the fog, and when it was gone Arden would leave and head back to Ton D.C. Anya is going to have her head, and Arden hoped no one noticed her leaving the grounder city. Very small possibility that her absence had gone unnoticed. She cursed herself for staying away for so long. It was supposed to be discreet.

With no luck, Arden found herself sharing the small cavern with two to other people. One tall, one really small. The little one was the same height as Charlotte, so the other person had to be Bellamy due to their closeness throughout the hunt.
