A young girl took a deep breath as she looked out into the ocean. She appreciated the moment of calm and silence, something that was new to her, being from the city and all.
As she ran her hands through the sand next to her, she couldn't help but wonder. Wonder what it must be like to live here. To have these views. The peace and quiet. Yes, she may have just arrived on the island a few hours prior, yet, she had already fallen in love with the place.
Everything was so different from how she knew it. Even in the city, there were barely any cars. Everyone was on horseback. People would smile and wave as you passed by. Everyone seemed to be acquainted with one another in some way, even if they didn't know each other well.
Everything was so disconnected. You entered an ice cream parlor, and would see no one on their phones. No, they were all talking with their neighbors. In fact, they frowned when the girl took her phone out for a moment, even though it was less than a minute while she checked a message. That was something unusual to her.
Her mind then wandered to the warm spirit of the natives. Everyone was so welcoming to her when she arrived at the camp. Well, most everyone. She couldn't understand what was Loretta's deal! Justin had simply been showing her around the stables, he wasn't even attractive to her. She had seen way better looking boys before. Oh well, each to their own, she supposed.
Suddenly, she turned around. She went from sitting to her full height of 5'7 in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Yes, she always had fast reflexes. She could've sworn she heard something, yet... there was no one around.
What she did miss, though, was the faint pink glow in the tips of her hair, swaying gently with the wind behind her back, and the fact that her eyes looked to be, almost pink, under the moonlight...
