Hunter slouched on the counter, tears pricking his eyes as he yawned.

It had been about a week since the argument, and Hunter had avoided all texts or calls from Tilly. He was still pretty pissed, but Jay had made him realize he was a hypocrite.

But another problem- Blapples hasn't come to the shop for a while. Usually she shows up every other day at least, which was rather concerning. But Hunter was still getting paid for the bitches at the counter, so he couldn't give too much of a shit.

Didn't mean he still was worried.

Blapples had been a hero back in the day with the same name- she retired after a strange event and resigned to just owning her café. Many theories say she retired because they hated the hero system, or that they lost somebody special.

But nobody had known for sure, and Hunter would rather not be on Twitter for those arguments.

A chime rang as somebody walked in. Hunter didn't bother looking up, prepping the station for whatever drink this asshole wanted. He heard a thump and looked over, seeing Tilly with her head on the counter, dirty-blond hair resting on it.

She groaned in a mix of annoyance, worry and grief.

"What's up you piss-kink?"

"My mom hasn't really been paying attention to me as much.." She groaned, slightly muffled while her head was still on the counter.

"Won't this mean that your 'secret job' will be easier to hide?"

"Yeah, but I still miss her. She's been there for me always. By the way, are we still...."

"Friends?"

Tilly only nodded, finally looking up. She had rather heavy eye-bags and a solemn expression.

"Yeah, if you want to be. I was a hypocrite. Is it okay to come tomorrow after I work?"

Tilly's face brightened a bit, a small smile gracing her lips. "Rounds tonight as well?"

"Hell yeah, we can make Jay do the work while we chill."

This caused the two of them to giggle.
