Norma's head was resting on Alex's chest. They were in his bathtub, hugging each other tightly. Although he had assured her couple of days ago that they were fine, Norma was feeling he needed some space. Therefore, she gave him that and came back to him whenever she felt he wanted to be close to her. It was hard for her, to stay away from him, to restrain herself to touch him when she was dying for a skin-on-skin contact. But for once, she had decided to put his needs before her own.
Alex was perfectly aware of what she was doing and was thankful to her. If he was totally honest with himself, he needed that space, but didn't want her to feel like she was the only responsible for what they'd been through. He regretted telling her that the other night and was doing some efforts to prove her that he wanted them to move on. It was hard for him though, forgetting the image of his wife nearly dead in his arms. But he wasn't worried, he knew that anger will pass soon, or simply fall back on the culprit: Norman Bates.
The couple had their ups and downs, but they will make it.
Alex moved his hands up and down her arm, caressing her wet skin and kissing her forehead tenderly. Today was a good day, probably the beginning of their new life together. Today, he had woken up with the feeling that his resentment towards Norma was finally gone. Therefore, he will be able to cherish his wife and not to think about what had happened a few weeks ago. He was eventually ready.
Norma, on this other hand, wasn't feeling well. She had a lump in her throat and felt a horrible need to cry. She wasn't there with him. She was still where she had gone with Christine a hour ago, at the doctor's. She had discovered something at this appointment, something really important she needed to tell him. However, she feared his reaction. Will they want the same thing? They had just reconciled, she didn't want to lose him again. But if he didn't want what she wanted, she didn't know if their couple will survive this.

One hour ago
Norma was passing the hallway non stop, she was so scared. She hadn't felt good for a few days now. She had thought it was because of the state of her relationship with her husband. But then, she had gotten it was something else. The nausea, the headaches, the shortness of breath... she had experimented this before, twice. She had bought three tests in the drugstore early this morning, without waking Alex up and had done them while he was still sleeping. There were no doubts, the three little sticks had indicated her the same result: positive. She was pregnant, with Alex's baby.
Now, she was standing in front of her gynecologist's cabinet to be sure. She had succeeded to have an appointment for this afternoon, while Alex was at the police station. Today was the end of his house arrest, he will be free in only one hour. She had been so happy when he had told her that yesterday. But now, she felt like her world would fall apart in a second. And maybe, it will.
She was relieved when she saw Christine's car pulling into the parking lot. Norma had known she couldn't go through this alone, she needed someone to hold her hand tightly and to tell her that everything will be perfectly fine. She had had no one in mind except for Christine. Dylan and Emma were far away. And as for Alex, well, she needed to be sure before informing him. She didn't want to worry him for nothing. Or perhaps, she just didn't want him to go with her, she didn't know.
"Hey, got your message, what's going on?" Christine asked her, a little worried.
"I, huh, I..." she couldn't do it, she couldn't do that again. She put her face in Christine chest and began to cry loudly, feeling more helpless than she had ever been. She had the feeling she was reliving her first pregnancy, when she had discovered that Caleb had knocked her up.
"Norma... Norma, everything is fine, calm down, honey, please..." Christine muttered softly, caressing her hair soothingly.
After a couple of minutes, she managed to calm her down. Alex was better in the art of making her calm down. But Christine did it good. She took her face in her hands and dared to ask: "Did he hurt you? Norma, did Alex Romero hurt you?"
