SOMETIMES DA HONG WONDERS WHEN HIS TIME WILL COME. JUST SOMETIMES.

He's been in this universe for close to nine hundred years now. The first two hundred were spent getting his revenge, the other six hundred were spent being trapped inside the old man's mind. The past year was spent trying to settle the scores and come to terms with others (and himself). Really, he hadn't lived a good life so far. And he doesn't believe it should continue for much longer. And he won't stick around to see if he's right or not.

He doesn't want to go off with anyone, he can't find himself to love anymore. He loved someone once, it was Shi Wudu actually. After that, he forgot how to love someone like that again. Nor did he want to.

He's perfectly content nowadays with looking back on his days with Shi Wudu, when they were only kids.

"Shi Wudu?" Da Hong speaks up, his voice quiet and nervous as he feels Shi Wudu press up behind him. He feels safe with Shi Wudu's body pressed against his back, he's seen his parents cuddle like this, he never knew he would be able to do it too. Especially with someone like Shi Wudu, or just Shi Wudu at all.

"Yea?" Shi Wudu stammers, he's just as flustered as Da Hong is. It's okay, they're just stupid twelve year olds, they don't need to be all that mature and grown up about this.

They always have to be grown ups to watch over their little sisters. Especially with Shi Wudu and Shi Qingxuan's parents gone, and with Da Hong and Da Ju's parents slowly becoming more and more distant as they get older.

But they don't have to be grown ups around each other, when it's just them at least. They can just, be kids.

"I know we're young and this sounds silly, it probably is honestly..." Da Hong trails off, looking up at the stars. Grass scratches his face and he makes a face. Shi Wudu shifts them both up into a sit, their fingers interlocked while they gaze up at the stars. Shi Wudu looks beautiful with the moonlight hitting his face like that, Da Hong blushes.

"But I love you. Even if it won't last. Just know right now, I really love you."

Shi Wudu feels his mouth go dry at those words, nervously turning over to Da Hong. Da Hong is looking at the grass, hiding his face from Shi Wudu in embarrassment and shame.
