Chapter 4

Jeremiah

I hate my life so much like really I do, but I have to live it for the best right.

"Hey, you okay son?"

I'm currently spending time with my mom. She has cancer and well it's not good but she's still smiling which is making me smile harder.

"Yes ma'am I'm fine, but you are you okay?" I walked over to her bed and examined the wires and the medicine she's taking.

"Baby I'm fine okay don't worry about me." She let out a dry painful cough.

"Momma."

"I'm fine son I promise, here sit with me."  I sat on the edge. "Now when my time comes you take your brother and your sister far away, like Rome go there and don't leave a trace, I'm sure Silvia has a place in Rome for you."

"I don't think I could handle moving to Rome under the six year current circumstance." She placed her hand on my back.

"I know baby I know. She would be happier if you moved on with your life."

"Yea she would." Yea fuck that.

"I know you miss her and she misses you too but baby you are turning your whole life upside down for this girl who I must say has an amazing impact on you and I respect that but baby your stopping your world for here and let's be honest she's not here." I tear fell on yo her hand and she wiped my cheek.

"I have a mission tomorrow, maybe me and you could order food here and watch hella movies and eat hella snacks." She sat up.

"Only if it's horror movies."

"Deal momma."

I love her. I normally come visit my mom like everyday especially after missions because I'm all bruised up and she helps me. I love her, next time I'm bring my little brother and sister.

"You gotta tell me what you want to eat momma so I can get it."

"No because your gonna try and pay for it knowing damn well I can pay for myself."

"Okay let's compromise. What if we split it I pay half you pay the other half?"

"No tricks." Yea I'm paying but she doesn't know.

"Momma. Just let me pay."

"Nope, I'll call security and have them escort your ass out of here."

"Fine." I handed her one of her wallets and then she took out the card. She heard the phone ding and then she looked up at me.

"I know you did not just pay Jeremiah Xavier Romanoff after I said I was gonna do it."

"A wwoman should never have to pay for a meal that's being provided by the man let alone a mother trying to pay for a meal that her son offered her." She pinched me then laughed.

"You never let me down not once in your life. I'm glad, plus I raised you right so that's a point on my scoreboard."

"You love to take the credit, maybe I'm just a good listener."

"If I wouldn't had said anything then you wouldn't have anything to listen too there for the point goes to me."

"You and your logistics." She laughed.

"Where are your siblings?"

"They are hanging out with Silvia and her daughters since James and Veronica are in Rome doing stuff with James dad."

"Has Veronica came out of the closet yet?"

"Mom."

"What you can smell the lesbian in her."
