Chapter 24

Jeremiah

"Ya'know Jer, I've done a lot of things that have hurt people that were close to me. Like you. I loved you and you made me happy. I made a decision that only benefited me which was selfish. It was selfish and I'm so sorry Jeremiah I really am. I'm not the best person but I truly do love you and still do." Those words still float in my head while she sleeps on my chest.

I feel bad for holding such a grudge between use well me holding a grudge against her. She's apologized and explained so many times and I've just sat there looking at her as if I didn't believe her at all. Truth is I do miss her. Like a lot. I'm glad she's back but something about this doesn't make me feel any better.

"Hey get outta ya head and wake up sleeping beauty." Sil said while sitting across from me.

"Hey Savannah. We're here." I tapped her softly and she let out soft hums before she woke up looking at me then back at my phone.

"Mhm mk." She got up and looked at Sil like something was wrong. She held her hand out. "Give me my snake please. I would like to have them back now please."

"You'll get them after the mission."

"Hm ok."

Either something is wrong wit her or it's because she just woke up but she's not fully here. I'll give her an hour or so.

"We get in we disable there systems and then we kill the boss and leave." Sil said like it s the easiest thing in the world.

"I'll be on the roof working on disabling the software and destroying the hard drive. While also killing the front side and back guards." Raven said. Her mind is somewhere else and i don't think it's good. Maybe this is her getting into mission mode.

"I'll go inside with Sil."

"No maybe you should go on the roof with Raven. It's been a while since she's been on a-."

"It hasn't been that long Sil I was on a mission two weeks ago back home." Raven said looking down on the ground

"Jer go on the roof."

"Yes ma'am."

On the roof (mission has started)

"Pass me my three laptops and the hard drives please."

"Hey Ra-."

"Those cords please."

"Yea yea sure."

"Okay since that's setup up and things are running smoothly time to kill eh?"

"Yup."

We sat on this roof killing these guards in silence while checking software and shit. God if she would just talk to me.

"One get out of your head and two I'll talk when you ask the questions you've been itching to ask since I got off the damn plane." Well damn alright then.

"I want you to talk to me willingly not because it's forced."

"Well I won't know what to talk about if you don't ask and set the topic of the conversation then why are we talking? Hm?" I sighed and just looked at her. "Eyes on the person not me."

"Right. Now tell me what's going on with you Savannah?"

"Jay.....my father.......life......missing moments."

She has had a pretty rough life lately.

"I'm sorry Raven if you don't wanna talk to me about it that's okay."

"Nah it's cool Jer I can talk. My dads death was so painful for me like even though we had out moments where I was fucked and he was too we still killed for each other. He actually was the on who brought me my snakes and my third one is his. He's everything. Then jay she is just like wow really what a dumbass ya'know."

"Yea she was a dumbass."

"She's a dead dumbass now." She chuckled.

"She was smart but acted on her smartness in a very dumb way." I mean she's not wrong.

"How's the software coming along?" She looked over.

"Two are complete now we are waiting in the third which is......done." She looks back at me and back at the laptops. "Well now we wait on Sil, we've killed the guards then we broke there system down deleted everything that could make the powerful. Now we sit here and wait."

"Raven?"

"Hm?"

"Why do you keep apologizing after I've forgiven you?" She stopped her motions and crawled towards me and sat upright.

"Because I still feel bad and even though you may forgive me you can never forget and deep down your still hurt that I did what I did because I know for sure that I am hurt." She placed her hand on my cheek and looked at me. "Jer you've been my best friend along with boyfriend. Do I think we would ever get back to that? No, I don't expect it to happen no time soon but right now in this very moment while my hand rests here and I have your full attention.....I love you Jeremiah and I am sorry for the pain I've caused you because not only was it pain but it was pain caused by a selfish act." She kissed my cheek and wiped a tear that had fallen. "With that being said we should get ready to go because Sil is ready."

I looked at her and grabbed her hand as she turned to grab her stuff. I placed my hands on her cheek and kissed her.

And I don't regret it not one bit.
