CHAPTER 3 – PREY AND PREDATOR
“Lights, camera, action!”
My classmates were doing their final rehearsal outside of the classroom. We’re currently here on the school ground and I have no idea why I’m here. I was supposed to report to the Principal's office, however, our advisor told me that I should wait until the faculty meeting ends.
Since I do not know anything about the play because obviously I’m just new here, Yvenne personally assigned me to record a video of their presentation later instead. I agreed and besides, I have nothing to do right now.
I’m standing not so far away from them while quietly sipping the orange juice that I bought from the cafeteria earlier.
This public school is quite big and it was surrounded by countless of trees and hills. It has many buildings as well which means that there are hundreds of students who are currently enrolled here.
I’m not used to draw in so much attention from others. It just didn’t seem right. It’s actually creeping me out just like what I felt that night.
I bit my lower lip as I remember the guy I saw last night inside the forest.
I can tell that he’s skinny yet tall. I’m kind of invested towards him and I wanted to know his name.
Was that his hobby? What I know is that boys from the city doesn’t like to go outside especially when it’s dark or something. I don’t know. He’s quite different. I really want to know that guy.
Who could he be?
“Kon’nichiwa! Watashinonamaeha eidendesu! Hajimemashite!” My eyes widened as I immediately turned around to see a guy who was now waving his hand at me.
He’s bowing his head too.
“Ē to, Anata wa nihongo o hanasu hōhō o shitte imasu ka?”
Napasinghap siya at napakamot-ulo.
“I'm sorry. Nahihiya niyang tugon.
I sighed in relief. That was close. As I have said, I’m not fluent in Nihongo so it would be embarrassing to meet someone who knows that language who’s not Japanese by blood.
“I thought your name was Alex?” Naguguluhan kong tanong.
He chuckled and brushed his hands in the air as if saying that I got the wrong idea.
“Alex is my twin brother.” He answered, stating the obvious.
