Chapter Fourteen: Meeting George

Selena was reporting the news to Optimus. He had hopes that this might stir something up so they could finally make a move. But Selena told him to be patient as they didn't know that for sure. Selena hung up early when the people were asking for food. Selena had been using magic to feed everyone and it was around lunchtime now. But, when Selena went to get her staff, it was missing.

She searched everywhere for it but it was nowhere to be seen. So, she started questioning everyone but they didn't know. But she soon discovered that the staff wasn't the only thing missing. Ellie was gone too. Adam told her truthfully that he saw Ellie leave and that he couldn't stop her, nor did he want to leave with her to make sure she didn't do anything stupid. Selena was obviously upset. Not at the fact that Adam didn't follow Ellie to stop her, but that she left without a word and during a time when it's not safe to go outside.

Especially after five years of hiding. So, she sent out search parties to find Ellie and her staff. But their top priority was her daughter. She could care less about her staff. No one knows her spells so she's safe there. But her daughter is more important. Selena gave Paul a call telling him what was going on. He promised to keep an eye out but he hadn't seen either of them while he's been out. But Selena would find it hard to stand by and let others do the work. So, she stocked up on weapons and started to head out the door.

"Where are you going?" Piro asked noticing

"I'm going to find my daughter," Selena said looking at her, "I can't just stay here and wait. It would be wrong of me to do so."

"You're going alone?" Maddie asked

"I prefer to do things alone."

"And get yourself spotted and killed? We're coming with you as backup," Piro said.

"We?" Selena asked

"Maddie's coming too. You've trained her so she's ready to fight in a real battle."

"One problem; we'll be flying and she can't fly."

"Didn't you give Erik one of your spare jet-packs back when we had that little time travel accident?"

Selena knew that fact, she was just pretending to forget so Maddie didn't have to come along. She didn't want Maddie to get hurt or killed. She's taken enough from Paul. She doesn't want Maddie on the list. But Maddie insisted that she could take care of herself and that she wanted to come along. Selena gave in and said fine. She got the old jetpack out from her weapons room and placed it on her back that latched onto her clothing and a smaller device came out and attached to the back of her neck.

That thing will help her control the thing but that thing attaching to her neck hurt. Selena has the same thing but it's wireless. Selena told her how to use it and the three made their way outside. The three took flight and started looking over the apocalyptic world below them for any sign of Ellie or Selena's Staff but there was nothing. Selena even flew over the harbor to see if there was anything unusual about the pirate ships in the bay. But everything appeared normal.

Aside from one ship that was heading away from the island. Selena would've just left it alone but she had to be sure that Ellie or her staff wasn't on that ship. She contacted the other girls about it before going toward the ship. But she would soon regret doing so when she started getting shot at. Still in the air, she dodged the shots and called for backup. She managed to land on the ship and started fighting off the pirates herself.

All the while trying to get below decks to search the place. But she was outnumbered which was never a problem until today. She wasn't focused on the battle, she was focused on finding her daughter. But her distractions would be her downfall. One Pirate got a hold of her, pinned her to the mast, and punched her hard enough to knock her out. Piro and Maddie arrived just as this happened.

Maddie tried to run over to Selena who had been dumped on the floor but a Pirate tripped her and kept her on the floor. Piro put up no fight as she wanted to reason with them. But all three were tied to the mast while the Pirates searched their belongings. They revealed that Selena had a sack of gold in her little bag which confused the two girls.

But it was now revealed that their captain was none other than George. The Pirate who stood up to Pippa just hours before. He tried questioning the girls about the gold but they had no idea what was going on. So, they had to wait for Selena to wake up to get their answers. Not patent enough for that, George threw water on her which seemed to work.

"I've woken up to worse," Selena said seeing the predicament the three were in.

"Not the time!" Piro said not in the mood for Selena's comments

"What were you planning to do with this gold?" George asked her

"And to add to the questioning; where did you get it?" Piro asked her

Selena sighed, "I stole it from the people."

"You what?!"

"AND! The gold was going to be used to bribe these stupid pirates into telling me where my daughter is."

"She's not here, love," George told her

"Only one person is allowed to call me that and you're not on the list," Selena glared at him

"Selena!" Piro made her shut up, "Look, I'm the Princess of this island, Piro. This is the Witch and thief Selena and this is Miss Maddie. We're just looking for Selena's daughter, Ellie, and her magic staff. If you help us, you can keep the gold and we'll leave you alone."

George only chuckled, 'My dear Witch and princesses, your offer is meaningless. Don't give a damn 'bout your rank. The gold in your sack, well, it isn't worth jack. I should make you fools go walk the plank,' George tossed the bag of gold at Selena's face, 'Your riches would fill other pirates with glee but none of those pirates are me!'

'They're not he!' His crew said

'Sing a yo-ho, keep your jewels divine. Yo-ho and your manners refined 'cause even more precious than rum in a stein is revenge, revenge, revenge and it's gonna be mine! Revenge, revenge, revenge is gonna be mine!'

"Revenge? On whom?" Maddie asked finally speaking up

"Wait for the second verse, love," George told her giving her a little boop on the nose, 'I've savaged and pillaged and pilfered each village, my conquests I'm justly proud of. Each town that I plunder I leave torn asunder. A pirate's life is one to love and yet my heart's hardened as hard a rock. I won't rest 'til I've skinned me an Angel! Sing a yo-ho, you can beg, plead and whine but yo-ho, you are wasting your time. That girl got my life, wanna tear out her wings! Revenge, revenge, revenge is gonna be mine! Revenge, revenge, revenge is gonna be mine!'

"So you want revenge on Pippa? For taking your life?" Selena asked confused by his motives

"Afraid she did more than that. Once I sailed toward a horizon where I might find happiness waiting until that Angel destroyed my life and filled me with hate unabating. Some say "let it go!", but I say "hell, no!" I'm finally on the right path. Soon the Dark One will feel the fire of this pirate's wrath!'

"Wait! Did you say the Dark One?" Maddie asked thinking about Rumplestiltskin from 'Once Upon A Time.'

"I think we know why you haven't been able to get close to her. She wants revenge on me for whatever reason. So that's getting in the way of your revenge," Selena said

"Bloody hell!" George said

"Captain, give us safe passage to the Angel's castle and you've got yourself some revenge," Piro said trying a different idea

"Aye, love. It's a deal. Have one last drink, mates! Then we've got a date with destiny!"

The pirates cut the girls loose. The three shared a high five and collected the weapons that were taken from them

'Sing a yo-ho, I'll slaughter the swine. Yo-ho, must be fate's design. At last, our tales will again intertwine! Revenge, revenge, revenge is gonna be mine. Oh, it's gonna be, oh, it's gonna be, oh, it's gonna be mine! Oh, it's gonna be, oh, it's gonna be, oh, it's gonna be mine!'
