Him tensing up like that was not exactly the reaction I expected from him. Then again, what did I expect? Anyways, I could feel him staring at me, having understood what I meant immediately. Then, when he regained his composure after a while, he turned around so he was strattling the bench and looking me square in the eyes.
"Why do you think that?" He asked, demanding an answer.
"Y-you were the one who left medbay before me... I saw pink just moments before I gulped down the water and since I found her right after you left... the only logical explanation is that it was you. There cannot be anyone else that did it. It would have been a miracle if you didn't notice her body when leaving." I said, uncomfortably scooting away from him with an apologetic expression. Despite how bad he seems and now my growing suspision of him, I somehow couldn't bring it over myself to tell the others.
"Is it really ok to suspect me so early tho?" He answered, scooting closer again and placing one slightly hooked finger under my chin, his thumb on my chin as he turned my head around, forcing me to look at him.
My eyes widened. He had a point. "But-but how come you haven't- you haven't noticed her body when you left medbay?" I asked again, my voice still shaky.
"I went to cafeteria unless you weren't paying attention." He said deadpan.
Right, he went the opposite way and I was blocking the view from further down the hall with my body so it would make sense that he didn't immediately notice it. I face palmed myself. "Right... I'm so sorry.." I said, moving my head away from his piercing stare.
"I'd say it's quite alright. No grudge held on my end!" He then said, suddenly perking up with a gentle smile creasing his handsome features.
'Handsome? Whatever am I thinking?! I shouldn't like boys!' I gently shook my head, turning away from him in embarassment as a blush started climbing up my neck and nestling on my cheeks and the tips of my ears. Luckly for me however, our helmets were equipted with a dimmed, black glass which was covering my face, so my blush was hardly visible, which I honestly hoped dearly for in that moment because I refused to let him see me blush like this.
~ Voting... ~
"Oh, we already had to vote.." I mumbled to myself, picking my tablet up from where I had left it sitting on the table. Since, in my opinion, black was cleared of suspision, I looked to the others for guidence, but it seemed they weren't suspection anyone either at the moment. I sighed, imagening that little cloud again and then clicked on 'skip'. Seems I was not alone on that opinion as almost everyone else voted to skip, but baby blue had voted black for some reason. 'Ah..' I thought, looking over the results. Well, that just made another conflicted emotion bloom in my chest, getting to me. 'What if black was indeed it but someone else killed pink to give him an aliby and he was just a really good liar? Or perhaps he even committed the merciless murder himself and was just an awfully good liar? Argh.. not again, my thoughts were spiraling out of control.' I looked up to see black looking conflictedly at baby blue, who sat there, trying to give him a sinister look but failing and ending up looking like he was pouting.
~ End of meeting ~
As soon as the meeting ended, everyone got up and I watched baby blue crossing the table, eyes set on me.
"You can't go trusting someone like him." He quickly voiced his arrival, hands on his hips as he eyed me closely.
Black had already left me when baby blue decided to appraoch me, so it was just the two of us in cafeteria left. "Ah well... he seems ok..?" I tentavely said, not wanting to sound like I just ignored his warning, but also not wanting to offend black.
"Ok? Ok?! Are you out of your mind!? He's clearly the bad guy and if not, then he's definitely working for them! You can't seriously trust someone with an aura as bad as his?" He then retorted, raising his voice at me, causing me to slightly flinch under his loud voice.
I felt like a child being scolded for something bad they had done. 'It's not like it will kill me to trust him... right?..' I lowered my head, listening to baby blue's taunting and warning. Luckly for me, he seemed to have calmed down soon after and looked at me apologetically.
"Hey.. green, I'm sorry I yelled at you.. I just- I just felt that I needed to keep you safe. We've already lost one crewmate and can't afford to lose more if we want to win this." He said, raising an arm to rest it on my shoulder, which I swatted away.
"It's ok. Not like anything happened.." I mumbled, turning my back on him and walking the opposite direcrion. I left him standing there, his hand still in the slightly bent position it was in after I swatted it away from me. I don't know why, but I.. I felt offended that he was talking bad about black. It's not that he doesn't have his reasons to distrust him, I mean, technically you need to be wary of everyone in this ship to survive. Upon arriving into reactor, I heard a loud crash coming from behind me.
