'What on earth was that?!' I thought to myself, freaking out as I swerved on my heel, turning to look behind me when I saw that the lights in security had falled down. I gasped, yellow was under the pile of rubble. I rushed over and started frantically throwing aside and clawing at the rubble, my only goal set on getting yellow free from underneath it. To my relief, brown and gray came into view, rushing in to help me. Brown was working with me on the lights and parts of the ceiling, while gray had gently put his arms around yellow, pulling her out from underneath it all. Placing her down, we quickly took off her helmet to check for a pulse.
"She's alive!" Gray exclaimed relieved, having been the one to press two fingers to her neck just under the chin and onto the vein to check if she was still alive, which, as he stated, she was.
I also moved my hand to check and luckly, there was a thumping. It was pretty faint, but it was there. As quickly as we could, we brought her to medical and stripped her of her heavy suit, quickly checking her for any broken bones. Brown had the most experience in the doctor's line of work, so he was doing most of it while me and gray were helping out.
"Seems that she broke her arm, but the ribcage and the legs seem to be fine. She's lucky. If it had broken even just one of her ribs, she probably would not have survived it because the pressure she was under could easily have swevered that bone and damaged her organs, causing an internal bleeding which would end fataly. Actually, two of her ribs are slightly cracked so if we didn't get there when we did, she would not be here anymore." He explained to us, cutting her blouse, which she wore under the suit, open to show us what he had found out on the scan, pointing to two particularly big black spots on her torso.
I looked away, not wanting to see yellow half naked like that, tho I could see that gray had other plans, the way he stared at the bruises, then started to let his eyes rove over her body. I slapped his arm, causing him to turn to me and rub it.
"What is you- oh." He just said, taking one look at me, then back at yellow and brown before also turning his back and apologizing.
After a long wait, brown finally had smeared some gauze onto her wounds and wrapped her up, telling us that we may turn around again before pulling out his tablet, about to initiate another emergency meeting, but thought better of it since he already knew the engineer and was just going to ask him to fix security privately.
I watched as brown's left hand frantically danced over the tablet, his fingers clicking down and touching the glass. I assumed he was writing a message, tho I wondered who to. I just shrugged to myself, looking over to yellow who's chest was peacfully heaving up and down, seeming like she was sleeping. I let out a small breath, relieved she was still alive and well. 'It would be ridiculous to loose another crewmate to some stupid lights that crashed onto her because they weren't screwed in right. That was the ship's fault, not our's. Tho, it could have been arranged by the impostor now that I think of it. It wouldn't be hard either, just get a screwdriver and unscrew a few bolts. Then, when the ship changes course and is sent slightly shaking, whoever stood under the lights at that moment would probably have had a worse fate than yellow if no one were around.' I shook my head, fixating my eyes on brown who had already tucked away his tablet and was now waving his hand in front of my face. "S-sorry, I tend to zone out when thinking." I quickly mumbled out, apologizing.
"It's alright, just try not to zone out again. We don't yet know who the impostor is and he could easily take advantage of the fact that you aren't even present in this world. We can't have you dying on us because you zoned out. Plus, you do tend to bring us pretty good insights on certain things." Brown, answered, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder which caused me to look up to him and smile.
"Thank you, I appreciate it!" I chirped happily, getting out my tablet to search for my next task. Yes, I was easily persuaded just like a child, and adding my height, people often tend to treat me as one. But not that I mind sometimes. It can be fun. For example, I can go into the playgrounds in shops and amusement parks without people judging me for it, or I often have to pay less for things because people assume I'm a child and children often get things cheaper. Like entry tickets and stuff. Smiling, I left for cafeteria, heading to clean out the chute.
