Brown lay there, his eyes rolled and glazed over with a sickly white, the same white I saw when I found pink's body. There wasn't any such sighn to even indicate a struggle, but I saw his mouth fuming, some red mixed with the horrible white.
'Could this be the influence of.. whatever it is that orange injected him with?!' I thought, feeling Black's presence behind me moments later, his big, comforting hand laying heavily on my shoulder.
Before long, I was pulled into a warm embrace from behind. Unable to tear my eyes from the scene, I watched from the corner of my eye as black reported the body, calling an emergency meeting. The blaring sirens are what got me out of my dazed state, but I still couldn't bring myself to move, feeling a sense of responsibility and guilt. Like this had somehow been my fault.
'If only I were with him sooner, if I were more careful, than this could have been avoided! Who is going to instruct and lead the team now? Everyone trusted in brown and followed his lead and example, but now that he's gone, who could take his place?' I thought, the sound of the sirens drowning out as I seemed to fall into yet another trance, only to be pulled back into reality when I was suddenly picked up by black bridal style, him making his way to cafeteria with rapid steps.
I held onto him, doing my best to force back the upcoming tears. It was all too overwhelming. It was as if I stumbled across every dead body, like it had deliberately been placed before me every time, just to get a reaction out of me. 'It all just felt so... surreal. I felt like I was in a dream. No, a nightmare. It pained me to know that parts of our crew were being slaughtered off without us being able to rule out the perpetrators. Urgh! I have to stop thinking about it!' As I left my mind scape, I came back to a most displeasing sight. Orange was standing up, cursing and accusing black, whom was also perched atop the table, somehow calm and managing to politely throw back some insults. That is when cyan joined oranges side, saying how black was probably the impostor because he was with brown and green the moment he died. She also added the fact that he reported the body, which she fabricated with the idea that he may have sniched on himself to avert suspision off of him. And when yellow mentioned me, cyan was quick to argue how I might be the other impostor, hence the reason I wasn't dead yet.
I began seething, watching as some crew members nodded, rising to their feet in support of the cyan clad member. It was absolutely horrible. 'How could they just protect orange like that? Although they do make a valid point, that doesn't mean-' I froze as it all clicked in my head. There was indeed another person able to lead the team, and she was doing an excellent job at how she persuaded everyone around her. But I wasn't about to let her have what she wanted, I wasn't going to cave in and simply give up. I may not be strong physically, but I have a voice. And I can use my voice to change my fate for the better outcome.
If I were to make a snarky remark about cyan's judgement or brown's death, it would end in the suspision rising on me and it could result in my death, which I wasn't too keen on. So instead, I stood up in order to support black, speaking my mind when I heard another member shuffle to his feet, noting it was BB(Baby blue) who decided to join in and support us, which I was dearly greatful for.
"I know it sounds bad, but I need you to trust me. I don't want any more of us to die-" I began, only to be cut off by a 'yeah right!' from someone in the crowd. I winced, knowing that I had probably lost all trust I ever had.
"Now now, let's not get too agitated. How about this?" Black chimed in yet aagain, slow and polite to make sure everyone heard him. "We shall not vote anyone, but rather, decide after we've all seen the evidence each accusing party has to offer in order to support their claim.
Relieved, I watched as the majority of the group nodded their head in agreement. Then the time came to give off our votes, to which cyan immediately spoke up.
"Everyone in favor of electing off black and green, raise their hand now and make your decision known." Was what she commanded. Surprisingly, not even half of the people who agreed with her on her first insight towards our roles amongst the teams, raised their hands. If I were to count, I'd only get around 6 people, from 13 that previously agreed with her.
And when I asked who were to skip, all the other members decided to do just that. I was shocked at the initial outcome at first, but was beyond greatful for if, seeing as how black managed to make them see reason and give us a chance to explain ourselves. That was until...
