LOOK RIGHT THROUGH ME

i'd be lying if i said i haven't thought of you, but i'm happy i haven't seen you again since i moved away,. because i knew that if i saw you again, it would destroy me. to be brutally honest, i hope i never see you again, lee heeseung.

although those words weren't exactly something minah dared to say out loud, she sure had them in her mind. it was true. she didn't want to see him again. not only because he threw away one of the only things that was dear to her, for a girl, but also because he was a reminder of everything she lost after he left.

she didn't just lose him. she lost her other friends, her way of talking to people, the happiness inside her and herself. even though they were just teenagers, he would probably never realize the damage he had done on the poor girl.

the sweet, funny, cheerful girl who was once the life of the party, had now turned into a somber, antisocial, cold-hearted girl. at least for a while.

at the moment, she was somewhat content with her life. she had a best friend who wasn't ever going to drop her for a girl. park jongseong. also known as jay.

six years prior, jay came to her high school as a foreign exchange student. lucky for him, minah's mom was kind enough to take jay in and let him live with them for as long as he needed.

jay immediately fit into minah and heeseung's friendgroup. he was pretty much the mood maker, which made it easy for everyone to like him.

though he and minah initially weren't as close as she and heeseung were, over time they grew more fond of each other, eventually becoming great friends. however, it wasn't until heeseung dropped minah that they became even closer.

when heeseung left, jay didn't hesitate one bit to drop everyone and everything for minah. he was one of the only ones who could see right through the fake act of all over their other so-called friends.

finally, when high school ended, instead of moving back to the us, jay decided to stay in seoul to continue his studies, but also to stay with his best friend in order to protect her.
