FOR OLD TIMES SAKE
minah was nervously tapping her foot while constantly checking her phone. in about five minutes, heeseung would pick her up at her dorm, and she wasn't sure how things would go.
she contemplated on whether she should ask him about how he had been doing, and if there was another reason why their friendship didn't work out. but another part of her knew she would probably just freak out and not ask him anything.
the girl still heard the voice of her best friend telling her that this was a bad idea, but still, she wanted to try and see to really know if it was.
maybe it was time she made another friend anyways. jay had been pretty occupied with the girl he had been seeing lately, so he didn't get to spend as much time with minah as they used to.
then, as expected, minah heard a knock on the door. slowly, she gathered the courage to walk up to the door. after taking a deep breath, she finally opened it, revealing heeseung.
he was dressed in a black hoodie, topped off with an oversized denim jacket, and had put on a pair of trousers that perfectly fit his long legs. his hair was slicked back, with a few strands of hair fallen over his forehead.
however, minah wasn't looking at his clothes, nor his hair. she was looking at the flowers in his hands. he held a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
when she took a closer look, she noticed that the flowers were all daisies. her favorites.
back when heeseung and her were friends, he used to always handpick fresh daisies and make a bouquet out of them to give to minah.
how could he remember that, but not the reason we stopped being friends.
minah quickly shrugged off her negative thoughts, and decided to appreciate his kind gesture. so she looked up to see heeseung smiling at her.
"hi." he greeted her in a friendly way without expecting much reply back.
but to his surprise, she briefly put on a small smile and responded. "hey."
there was a brief silence before one of the two former friends spoke up again. frankly, neither of them knew what to say, since it was the first time in years they were alone together.
"i got this for you. your favorites right?" heeseung asked with slight hesitation in his voice. he didn't know if they were still her favorites after all these years.
minah nodded in response to his question. "yeah, they are. thank you." she softly told him and took the bouquet from him. she was surprised he remembered something from so long ago.
stepping inside her dorm, she waited for heeseung to follow her, but he kept standing in his spot. it wasn't until minah turned around that she noticed he was still at the door.
"you can come in. i have to get some things before we leave." the girl invited him over in her dorm room, so he did as she said and followed her inside while closing the door.
before heeseung walked in, he had expected the room to be bright, just like she used to be when the two of them were friends. her old room was decorated, full of plants, flowers, and pictures of her and her friends on the walls.
however, when he walked in, he saw the opposite of what he had anticipated. the walls were painted a stark mix between white and grey, and the only furniture she had were pretty much essentials. nothing decorative.
there was a cold atmosphere in the room. no decorations, no posters on the wall, no colors. it was almost empty, which was nothing like the jolly girl he used to know.
