SHOULD I TEXT HIM OR NOT?

after receiving heeseung's phone number, minah spent her time contemplating on whether she should text him or not.

for a moment, she was actually considering it, texting him just to ask how he had been doing all these years.

luckily, her current best friend managed bring her back to reality by telling her it was the last thing she should do. she had blocked his previous number after all, so maybe it wouldn't be the greatest idea to text him again.

"i'm telling you, i don't trust him." jay ran his hand through his hair and looked at minah in a serious manner.

she nodded in response. "i know you don't. i have my doubts too, but don't you want answers?" she asked him, to which his facial expressions turned slightly more pitiful.

for the past few years, she only knew one thing, and that was the fact that heeseung left her because of his girlfriend. at least, that was what he told her.

but minah knew better then to believe that there was only one reason to why their friendship came to an end. there was more to it, she was sure of it.

jay hadn't said a word in return. he couldn't express his support for minah to let heeseung into her life again, because he didnt. from the moment heeseung dropped her, jay had made it quite clear what he thought him.

"the heeseung i knew wouldn't have dropped me for just a girl. i know there's more to it." minah argued, because she was so sure she was right.

but luckily jay was there to remind her of what had occurred in the past.

"then maybe that's where you're wrong. the heeseung you knew wouldn't have dropped you at all, but he still did. so maybe you don't know him at all."

it took minah a moment to process the words jay said to her. though the boy empathized with her, he made sure not to sugarcoat anything regarding her past with heeseung. sugarcoating it would only make it harder for her to move on.

"don't try to find justification for what he did, because i know for sure that the answer isn't going to make you happy, minah."

jay was right. the girl didn't have any time to repair old friendships, especially not with heeeung.

however, she had a rather frequent tendency to ignore her bet friend's advice and figured a harmless message couldn't hurt anyone.

minah ran her hand through her hair as a soft sigh escaped her mouth. she wondered if this was what it was going to be like with heeseung from now on. him trying his hardest and making an effort to talk to her, while she didn't even try to put on a smile for him.

maybe it was rude of her to do so. or maybe he was just too naïve for trying to keep her around, when he should've known damn well that it would take a miracle for them to resolve whatever it was that broke them apart.

the dark haired girl doubted if they would ever be on good terms again, but she also doubted if she could put up this cold exterior for much longer.

as much as she wanted to completely cut the boy out of her life, a part of her still longed for their friendship. not only that, but she began to feel bad about the way she texted him.

after some time of bickering and contemplating on whether to ask him to go get something to eat, minah finally grabbed her phone and decided to ask him.

but eventually, she just backed out. if was probably for the better that she wouldn't go that far.

"don't be upset. he doesn't deserve your time." jay tried to reassure the sad looking girl, but it was of no use.

minah blamed herself for dwelling on the past for so long. though it was heeseung who ended things, she was the one to hold a grudge, not him. so it was only fair that she felt this way.

a part of her had always wished he would say sorry and things would be like they used to. but there was no way that things could ever be resolved if it were up to him. he didn't even remember what he had done to her.

so maybe, just maybe, minah would try to find it in her to forgive him. just maybe.

just as the girl was about to turn her phone off, and listen to jay list every reason why she shouldn't forgive heeseung, she got a notification.

quickly, she looked up at the new text message that she got and couldn't help but feel some sort of relief.

jay on the other hand was already judging her for even considering replying to the message, but at the end of the day he knew he couldn't do anything about it.

"i'm not even gonna stop you." jay sighed before minah finally clicked on the notification.
