"I don't know why I got this stupid degree," Clay complained to his roommate, Nick. "I literally can't find any job in game development."

"I actually know of a job. It's as an assistant," he offered.

"Nick, I don't want to be your assistant. We're friends, it would just be awkward." He said. Nick owned his own gaming development company. They had met their freshman year of college and Nick ended up dropping out because he had a chance to start his own company. Clay graduated and had no opportunities.

"Not for me," Nick rolled his eyes. "I found an assistant already. But the owner of my rival company is hiring an assistant." Clay knew all too well of Not Found Gaming, Nick complained about them often. He was friends with the owner, George, though. Clay thought it was two faced to be such good friends with him but to complain about his company constantly, but he never mentioned it.

"Really?" Clay asked. "George is hiring an assistant?" Clay had never actually met George, he had just heard of him, but this could be a good opportunity for him.

"Yep," Nick said and walked over to where Clay was sitting at his desk, scrolling through job listings. He opened a new tab and entered a search and turned the screen back to face Clay. The screen contained all of the details of the assistant position.

"It requires two years of experience," Clay said with a grunt. "How am I supposed to get experience if no one will hire me?"

"Just apply," Nick said. "Try to make your resume and cover letter sound really good and I'll talk to George."

Clay knew he had no chance of getting this job without Nick, but with his help, he just might be able to get his foot in the door. He filled out his resume and cover letter and made sure to include Nick as one of his contacts. He submitted the application.

"Okay," Clay said with a sigh of relief. "That's enough for now."

Nick nodded, "Wanna go out for dinner? We don't really have anything to cook," he said walking away so his voice was getting quieter. Clay followed him into the kitchen and hopped up onto the counter as Nick grabbed some nuts out of the cabinet. He turned the bag to offer them to him but Clay shook his head.

"Yeah we can go out for dinner," Clay said. "Maybe you could invite George? I could make a connection with him."

"I don't think he'd be up for that. George doesn't hang out with people he doesn't know."

"Sounds arrogant," Clay commented.

Nick shrugged, "I don't know, I mean if my company took off the way George's has maybe I'd feel the same way."

Clay grunted, "Please tell me I'm not about to hear another soliloquy about Not Found Gaming."

Nick rolled his eyes playfully. "Soliloquy," he scoffed. "I'm sorry my troubles annoy you."

Clay stuck his tongue out at him. "Where are we going, I'll go get dressed?"

"Somewhere nice?" Nick asked.

"Sure and you can invite your boyfriend?" Clay wiggled his eyebrows at him.

"He's not my boyfriend," Nick countered with a playful slap. "It's new, I'm not ready for you to meet him."

"Okay," Clay said with a grunt. "You're embarrassed of me I get it."

"I'm not embarrassed of you, it's just too soon," he said with a shrug. Clay really was dying to meet this guy. Nick had been spending a lot of his time with him and Clay wanted to meet him and make sure he was good enough for his best friend.

"Have you told him about your company yet?" Clay asked. Nick had mentioned several times that he was afraid to tell him about his company.

"No," he said with a deep sigh. "I just don't want him to find out and think I'm rich."

"Which you're not," Clay chuckled. "Just bring him here, he'll know." Their apartment wasn't really that bad. It was a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment with two walk in closets, a decent sized kitchen, a living room, and a nice balcony. They had decorated it in the nerdiest way possible with Minecraft posters, Star Wars memorabilia, legos and cosplay costumes displayed on mannequins.

"Shut up and get dressed," Nick said and walked out of the kitchen.

Dinner had gone nice with Nick up until the desert came out. Clay had noticed that a girl on the sidewalk outside was getting robbed. This wasn't his first time doing what he was about to do but Nick was here. How did he make this not so obvious?

"I have to go to the restroom," he said interrupting whatever Nick was talking about. One of his powers was that he could slow time. After he had excused himself he made time slow down and raced into the bathroom and changed into his suit. His suit was lime green spandex, with a hand drawn smiley face on the chest. His mask had mesh slits for his eyes that he had to adjust to be able to see through, but it kept anyone from being able to see his own eyes. He raced outside and allowed time to resume as normal.

"Dream?" The woman said.

"Hi," he said before turning to the guy robbing her. "You're going to want to give her the money back." He said with confidence.

"I'll pass," the guy said pointing his gun at Dream and firing. Once again Dream slowed time and caught the bullet in between his fingers. He was smirking at the guy inside his mask.

"I'll give you another chance? Wanna take it?" Dream asked.

The guy laughed. "Nice party trick," he pulled out a knife and swatted at Dream. He didn't even have to slow time to dodge the attack with ease. Dream was able to jump high into the air because of another one of his powers and kicked the guy in the face using yet another power he possessed. Dream had four powers. Time manipulation, air control, which allowed him to fly or jump, super strength, and super eyesight. "What are you?" The guy asked.

"I'm Dream," he said with a smile that the guy couldn't see.

"Dream," he chuckled. "You're about to die."

"Doubtful," Dream said and punched the guy so hard he flew several feet before slamming into a car. "Sorry," Dream called and waved to the guy in the car.

Dream heard the faint sound of sirens in the distance and saw the guy try to run. He was clearly in pain as he was stumbling and holding his side. Dream slowed time and quickly caught up to him. He grabbed him by both of his arms and moved him to the sidewalk where he pinned him to the ground. He then sped time up quickly so that the police were there in an instant and he returned time to normal.

"What's going on here?" An officer asked. The woman who had been getting robbed ran up to the officers.

"Sir, this man was trying to rob me and if it hadn't been for Dream, he might have shot me. Dream is a hero."

Dream smiled and removed the mask from the man who was pinned to the ground. "You're going to jail," he informed him.

"Don't worry Dream, the day will come when you don't get to hide behind your mask either." He threatened coldly. Dream didn't worry. He hadn't met a single person who was capable of stoping him. No one would unmask him.
