On Friday night Clay got a call from the only person who knew about Dream. Well, sort of. He knew about Dream, but he didn't actually know about Clay. "Dream?" He asked when he answered.

"Skeppy, what's wrong?" Dream asked in a panic. He was already fumbling around in his dresser trying to pull out his Dream outfit.

"I'm in the city and someone set a bunch of buildings on fire and they're holding the bridge hostage. I'm here but I don't think I can stop him alone. Bad is with me as well." Dream had heard of Bad, but this would be the first time they would meet.

"I'm on my way, send me your location," with that he hung up and pulled on his suit. As usual, he slid his jacket and sweatpants over the suit in case he ran into Nick.

He walked down the hallway of their apartment and Nick sat on the couch with the guy Clay had walked in on the other morning.

"Clay, hey," Nick said with a smile. "I want you to meet my boyfriend."

Shit. This was the worst timing possible. He couldn't just leave, his best friend would be so hurt. He couldn't not leave though because then people would literally die and it would be his fault.

"Hi, it's so nice to meet you," he said. "I'm really sorry but I have to go-"

"Now?" Nick asked, his voice sounding disappointed. "Where could you have to go? I mean you've been wanting to meet him."

"I do and I'll be back in like an hour okay? Don't leave."

Nick moved to stand in front of the door. "You're not leaving until you tell me what's so important that you're blowing me off."

Clay felt really sad in that moment because he realized that this secret he was keeping would eventually come to affect their friendship. He was going to have to think of a lie and fast. "George called me," he looked at Nick to see if he seemed to be buying it. "I have to do like a test run basically."

"I thought you got the job," Nick said skeptically.

"I did," he paused trying to think. "But this is the last step before Monday and I can't blow this. I really need this job."

Nick nodded and stepped aside. "You better come back. We'll be waiting." Clay nodded but didn't say anything before heading out the door. He took a deep breath once he was out the door. He never wanted Dream to hurt anyone, but it never dawned on him that Dream may hurt Clay.

Dream pulled his mask on and ditched his sweatpants and jacket in the same bush that he had before. He slowed time suddenly and pulled his phone out to check Skeppy's location before racing in that direction. For him, he had been flying for about fifteen minutes when he arrived, but the time on his phone only showed that one minute had passed. When he saw Skeppy, who was almost frozen in time, he let time speed back up as usual.

"Bout time you showed up," Skeppy said. "We've been waiting for you."

Skeppy was the son of the grim reaper. Before Skeppy was born his mother had been diagnosed with cancer and the reaper had been assigned to take her soul. But the reaper fell in love with her and if he took her soul he would never see her again. He spared her life and they began a romance that led to Skeppy. According to Skeppy's mom, the reaper was quite handsome under his hood, but she was the only one who had ever seen. Skeppy was the reaper's punishment, the son of the woman he loved, would be damned to the same fate as he had. Skeppy had to collect souls in order for both of them to survive. Unfortunately, Skeppy had inherited his mother's heart of gold. The reaper tried to find some loophole for his son. When they discovered that it was for Skeppy to fall in love and the person he fell in love with would be cursed to his fate instead, Skeppy turned to a life of crime. He become the most deadly assassin, killing anyone the reaper needed him to. This didn't stop Skeppy from falling in love. Skeppy hated himself for it when Bad woke up with the powers. At first, Bad was in a lot of pain as he could feel the agony of every death the reaper caused. Skeppy had sat by his side through every moment until the pain went away. Skeppy's powers were not gone they were only changed, where he had previously had the ability to take lives, he now had the power to save them. He had to time things perfectly, right when someone was about to die Skeppy would appear before them and save their souls. If Skeppy didn't save them, Bad would take their souls to the reaper. It was how all three of them kept their powers. Skeppy often called Dream for help because it was nearly impossible to time everything perfectly and without Dream, a lot of people would have died.
