The place George took Dream to was essentially a bunker. The door was flat on the ground and hidden by a patch of fake grass that was shaped like a little hill to hide the bulkiness of the door. If you didn't know it was there you never would have seen it. "What the hell?" Dream asked. "Why do you have this?"
"My parents are conspiracy theorists and they don't trust that I'll be safe, so I made a bunker." Dream couldn't believe someone actually had a real life bunker. The door had a pin code he had to enter to get inside and there was ladder just beneath the door. It was dark inside so once George shut the door they were engulfed in darkness. Dream had no problems seeing in the dark because of his super vision, but he didn't know how George would get down the ladder. He was beneath him so he placed a hand on his hip to steady him as he slowly descended the ladder. George began to slip and gasped for breath but Dream quickly caught him and steadied him back on the ladder.
"I've got you, I won't let you fall," he said softly. Once they reached the bottom of the ladder, there was solid ground beneath their feet. Dream could see a light switch on the wall next to them and he flipped it and the bunker was engulfed in a dim, yellow light. Dream wasn't surprised that the bunker was bigger than his apartment. The room that the ladder led to was huge and had a wall of security monitors that had live footage from security cameras outside of the bunker. There was also a desk set up with a computer with dual monitors. "You really have internet down here?" Dream asked pointing to the cables.
George chuckled, "Can't ever stop working," he shrugged. There was hallway that led to seven different doors.
"Why do you have so many rooms?" Dream asked shaking his head.
"Kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms," George shrugged. "If I'm going to be stuck down here I want to be comfortable."
"Well, I have something I have to get to so I better go," Dream said.
"No wait," George said. "Stay with me, just tonight please?"
Dream shook his head. "I- I can't. My friend is depending on me," he couldn't give too many details because he didn't want him to put together who he was.
"I'm scared," George admitted. "I've never slept down here. I don't want to be alone." Dream sighed and nodded his head.
"Okay, I'll stay with you." How the hell was he going to stay here all night and not expose who he was?
"Thank you," George said softly. "Can I get you anything?"
"No I'm fine."
"Are you sure?" George asked. His voice suggested he felt guilty for asking Dream to stay. "I have snacks in the kitchen or a beverage."
"Not like I could eat it," Dream chuckled. "Kinda hard with the mask."
"Right," George nodded and looked down at the ground, scratching at the back of his neck nervously. "Thank you," he paused and looked at Dream. "For saving my life."
"It's what I do," Dream said with a smile that George couldn't see.
"Yeah, but," he paused again. "I don't know, just thanks." There was an awkward silence around the two of them. "I think I had better get to bed," George said finally.
"Yeah sure, I'll see you in the morning?" He asked.
"Well," George took a deep breath. "Could you sit with me until I fall asleep?"
Dream chuckled, "Of course." He followed George into his bedroom. It was huge of course and there was a large king sized bed in the middle of the floor. "Do you need to change or anything?" Dream asked. "I can step out."
