A prophecy, isn't there always a darn prophecy? Some mystery that swirls through a tale and leads you like smoke, seeping through the fibres of it, swirling through every page, making it vibrate a little with the apprehension of its reveal.

There had been a prophecy whispered among the fibres of Olamoore and the other kingdoms for centuries. There would be a Queen with power unmatched that would be born into the world like no fairy before her. Her creation something never seen before, her magic unable to be tamed, and her birth would mark the day the fairy world would change forever.

As the song goes, all the kings horses and all the kings men...they searched out that baby so she would never be on that throne... never again! This queen would attempt something unheard of... to rule not just one kingdom... but them all, to take the ultimate throne and all of the power, every last drop.

Fairy kingdoms are most always ruled by a fairy queen, the only time they are not, it is if a queen dies during her reign and her eldest daughter is not of age. The king will then preside over the kingdom until that princess turns twenty one.

Olamoore had been in an unusual position these last two decades, it had been ruled by a king...

King Aster of Olamoore.

King Aster had been on the throne longer than any other fairy male in the history of the kingdoms , taking the crown when his wife, the queen, Queen Hazel of Olamoore, died in childbirth. Her only daughter being born that day...

Princess Rowan.

Rowan had been marked, her birth a rare thing, actually... a first. To have a fairy mother die in childbirth was rare in itself, their magic usually protected them, but a queen... it was unheard of.

A fairy that died in childbirth, she had her magic pass through her to her child as she passed away, this was something the kingdom knew, there were a select few fairy folk here that had stronger magic. Those fairies had more intense abilities, and that was why, because they had been born with twice as much magic, as expected, or should ever have been held by one fairy.

The thing was, nobody knew what happened when a queen died in child birth... a queens magic is the most powerful of the kingdom, by default, but her child's? if she passed it on? What would that be?! It had never happened before the day Rowan was born, and her birth marked the day her father, the king, and the leaders of the other fairy kingdoms began to fear her. Fear seeded in belly's and poisoned minds, they feared her because they didn't understand her. Rowan was the first, the first in line for the throne, and the first that had been born to a fairy queen after absorbing her magic.

The day Rowan was born, it was the day the quest began among the other five kingdoms... to find her, and to destroy her, ending her reign before it ever began.

King Aster, although he feared his daughter himself, her power already obvious as she hit sixteen, he loved her more than he feared her, and he had gone to war over her, many times, hiding and protecting her at great length.

Rowan was so much like her mother, stubborn and strong, not wanting to hide, a leader by nature wanting to be among her people, with a big heart that won out most times over her stubborn mind. She was a sucker for kin who were of need.

On the days where she oversaw the opening of the palace to their own people in the kingdom, a day once a month where fairy folk could come and ask of the royal line, ask for assistance or help, of food or mercy... if Rowan sat at the helm and they spun a story she felt kick her in the heart, she ignored her fathers voice in her head to send them away, ignoring his wishes, something she aspired to always do, loving to displease him for fun, and she would offer her assistance. This wasn't to say Rowan was weak or could be walked over, she was actually terrifying to those who encountered her, she gave nothing away, just as she preferred to be, nobody could ever get close enough to ever truly know her, but she did have a heart and she never betrayed it, not like it betrayed her, a story for later.
