Lunas hands release my hips, her lips part from mine and she stands back, admiring her skills... those of her mouth and those of her dressmaking.

"You look..." she sighs and looks upon me with a proud expression "quite the Queen Consort"

I reach for her in the privacy of my room and tightly curl my fingers through the material of her dress bunching it up at her waist. I tug her back with force sending her luscious lips back to mine. The kiss is filled with an urgency. It was always an urgency to fill Luna with my magic before anyone noted her absence or the whirl of colours like fireworks that shone under my door and gave us away.

Making love as a fairy, it was not as easy to hide in a closet or behind a door. When two fairy's came together in the acts of love and desire, it was not just their bodies that touched and discovered the other... it was their magic too. Lunas magic was simple, she could use it to create the most stunning clothes, to weave any material you could find into a dress or a suit. Luna could also manipulate water, just like her namesake could control the tide. When we came together, her magic could take a droplet of sweat on my body and turn it into a swirling torture device of pleasure. Fire and water should not be able to play like we do... but somehow it makes it ever more exciting. I much prefer to be with a fairy with less magic than I. If you had two fairy's with powerful magic that came together, body and magic, you were destined for a battle... and pleasure that made your toes curl and your soul leave your body. It's not advised.

I had not had that ... not even with Rowan. We had been together once, before our magic came in. The night of our sixteenth birthdays. It was the most human experience I can imagine, not a flicker of magic or a light in sight... and yet I still remembered it as the most intense and beautiful experience of my young life. I wondered sometimes if that was because it was followed by the most ugly and dark time of my life, and the birth of my hatred for her. The stark contrast from one moment to the next. Harrowing.

Luna breaks away from me and grabs my hands from her waist, pushing them gently away. Her grey eyes assess me with curiosity.

"When will you have to move into the oak" she asks.

I reach up and run my hand through her hair, fair strands that appeared almost white threaded through my fingers. She follows my gaze as I take in her features. I did so, slowly, not wanting to think about Rowan... not wanting to consider leaving for the Oak now... not ever.

"It is said that the intended will move to the oak the day of the wedding. I imagine I have two full moons to go" I offer to ease her worry.

"Rowan will marry you the night of both of your twenty first birthdays" she asks.

"Correct" I say begrudgingly. "Then she will have her coronation the day after"

Luna takes my hand from her cheek and drops it, moving away from me to the window. The sounds of the music below fill the silence as she watches the fairy elite gather to enter the great hall below.

"Why did she have to choose you" she says, turning back to me with storms in her eyes.

I erase the space between us and walk to her side, turning her to face me and away from the trumpets that sound below to the arrival of the royal family.

Her grey eyes swirl like a storm above the ocean, angry and darkening by the second.

"She chose me because I'm the only person in this kingdom that she can't control" I say, brushing my thumb against her chin.

Luna pushes my hand away again like I am the one who chose this. She is mad, and the look she gives me is one that shows it.

"She chose me Lu. I didn't choose her. I would never" I remind her.
