9 years ago, Tommy is age of 8 and Raboo age of 9.
Tommy and Ranboo are hanging out in the garden, Tommy is talking to Ranboo and he listens to him while reading. Tommy got curious about what he was reading. "Hey Ranboo, what are you reading?" Ranboo smiled and answered, "About a folklore story that takes place in this kingdom." This interested Tommy more and asked Ranboo to read it for him. Ranboo simply smiled and told the story, while Tommy only listened.
Once upon a time, the goddess of death and the god of gods—gods that humans frequently worship—were friends for all time. Up until the death goddess fell in love with a wing sorcerer and abandoned her position as a deity to become a human and be with her love. She chose to become a mortal, and the other deity approved her decision. Little did she realize, however, that she had been cursed by one of the gods without either she or the others being aware of it.
She had two identical sons and lived in a happy family till she got pregnant again one day and quickly fell ill while carrying her unborn child on her belly and was at great risk of giving birth. The husband felt terrible. When he pleaded to the gods for his wife to be healed of her illness, most of the gods disregarded his request, but one deity granted his request in exchange for the disease passing to his unborn child. The husband hesitated and soon agreed.....but still the fate cannot be broken, the wife died due to childbirth. The husband, devastated by what happened, began to remember the deal with the god. He went to him again asking him how to undo the deal. But the god said, "No, the deal has been sealed a long time ago" he snickered. The husband....regretted the deal. He asked the god how to prolong the life of his youngest son. The god said, "neglect him for the rest of his life and your two sons will also neglect him." The husband was speechless, telling the god if there was another way. The god shook his head, the husband hesitated for a while but then accepted it.
He immediately returned to the palace and explained the matter to his twin boys. The older twin didn't accept this idea, and neither does his younger twin, labeling their father a selfish person. The twins were in a state of shock over why their father made the bargain with the god (er...more like a demon). The father agreed with what his second son had said about him and acknowledged that he had been selfish. And nevertheless, he persuaded them that they may go see him while he slept. The twin struggled with this at first but eventually came to terms with the idea that they could only visit him at night. Somehow.
"The Antarctic Fate"
The third child of the family in the Antarctic Kingdom is said to be cursed with an illness that would cause him to pass away by the time he turns 18 years old. Unfortunately, the royal family must ignore the third child in his life. But there was a particular god who had it all planned out.
The third son was quickly associated with bad luck or a curse on the kingdom, according to the popular rumor. Others, however, held the opposite view, believing that he is neither a curse nor a sign of misfortune, but rather the blessing that the late mistress bestowed upon the kingdom. The cursed boy was known as "The Antarctic Fate."
However, they soon moved on and stopped thinking about the third son, forgetting that he even existed.
The end.
Tommy feels somewhat unsatisfied with the folklore tale. Ranboo sees Tommy being confused about the folklore tale, he's concerned "What's wrong Tommy?" Tommy replied "What happened to the 3rd son? Did he get the happy ending?" Ranboo confidently answered the questions that Tommy had in his mind.
"I don't really know what happened to him, but all I know is that he sure found his happiness in the end." Tommy didn't understand it but he smiled at the 3rd prince for his happiness.
(Tommy is 16 years old)
Tommy was walking around the library. He saw a familiar lying on the table, he touched the book "This book is the one that I and Ranboo read a long time ago... 'Antarctic fate'"
He decided to re-read it and sat down after, re-reading it he thought to himself "The 3rd son seems to relate to me that much, except for the illness and curse thing." He suddenly heard Ranboo calling him. He got up and went to him 'did the 3rd child really have a happy ending Ranboo... for me he didn't get the happy ending he wanted.' he thought presuming he didn't have that ending.
