When I was a child my parents never had much money, they always looked so tired and sad, I hated seeing them that way. One day we were on the street, a police woman chased down a bad guy. My parents smiled at they clapped at the woman for doing such a amazing job. That day I decided to become a police officer, just like that woman.
Two years ago I became a police officer, I haven't stopped many, but I did stop some people who tried to steal expensive things from stores. Until I got the call.
"Police officer Penny! We need you on street 7! There's a dangerous gang here, and they captured people!" Marcus my college said. I quickly got in my car and drove there, I have never driven as fast as I did that moment, I was determent to save those people. When I got there some of my colleges were trying to stop the gang members, but they had bats and iron polls to their defense. "We can't use our guns, but we can make a plan to save the people." I said. All the captured people were sitting in a locked room with a extra door that no one was keeping an eye on. "It's not that easy Penny, they planted a bomb under the people." Marcus said. "How the hell did they get a bomb?!" I asked. "We don't know for sure, but the others said one of them stole it from you know where" Marcus replied.
"Let me handle getting the people out, you just keep the gang members in place." I said. "You can't possibly do it alone!" Marcus said. "I can do whatever I want Marcus, as long as I get a chance."
I started thinking, thinking of a plan, "I got it!" I said. I took some rope from my car and ran from the place, I hid behind some buildings where the gang members couldn't see or notice me. I found the second door to the room the people were trapped in, "shh" I said to the people there, they looked relieved and got tears in their eyes. I put the rope around the handle to the other door, and bend it to the pipes around the room, so it wasn't able to be opened.
I got all the people out, and tried to look for the bomb in there. I found it, and a little girl was there too. She was standing on a plate, that had a rope to it, and to the bomb, she was crying, she was terrified. I placed my foot on the plate, and moved her. "Run to the others, and tell them to get away okay sweetie?" I told the little girl. She hugged me, she knew it was my time to go. She ran out, and I heard Marcus on the speaker. "Penny what the hell is this plan?! A sacrifice?!" Marcus yelled. "Marcus, there is nothing I can put on the plate here, it's my job to let it go" I told him. "You can't go like this Penny, you're only 26" Marcus said, his vice was shaky, like he was crying. "It'll be okay Marcus, just tell my parents what I did" I said, I started crying too, I was scared but I knew it was the only thing to do. "Goodbye Marcus." I said. "PENNY!" He yelled. It was the only thing I heard before the explosion.
"Penny." Marcus said.
"Were here for the memory of Penny smith. A brave and smart young woman. Penny sacrificed her life to save 12 people from the bad, may she rest in piece."
My parents were there, I've never seen them so sad as that day. I did my job well.
