"Nothing, it's what he wanted" I replied while I stuffed more pizza in my mouth and she looked at me suspiciously, "I'm telling the truth" I defended and she sighed,

"Hmm, Okay oh, if you say so" she said and then she sipped her bottle of coke.

"Woah! Look! I love this part of the movie" I said to her and she chuckled.

She couldn't stop herself from admiring the house, which was kind of funny, she later spent the night here by the way.

"The food is delicious mummy" I said to my mom and this made her happy, "Seriously, it's been long since I had something this good"

"You think I don't know that? That's why I made it extra special for you, by the way why haven't your friends visit us again?" she asked and I stopped eating, "Did you fight with them?"

"Of course not mummy, they're just busy that's all" I said and continued eating, "They sent their regards by the way" I added and she smiled.

"OK, that's nice" she said, and I could feel her gaze on me so I looked at her

"Is there any problem?" I asked and she sighed deeply.

"I thought you said that you were saving up for a new apartment for us. How comes all of a sudden it's your wife that gets to stay there alone? and to think that you only told me about it yesterday. The way you and your wife do your things hmm, it's not done that way oh, ko proper at all" she said, and I dropped my spoon.

"I'm really sorry about that mummy and to be honest you have a point, we should have told you about it sooner. But would you believe me if I said that she didn't tell me she already found a place, I found out about it just the day before. And that was why I called to tell you immediately "

" Okay, if that's the case, it's fine" she said

" And regarding the house, I didn't rent it, she did.."

"Enh?" she yelled, I knew she wouldn't take it lightly.

"Mummy calm down... "

"Don't tell me to calm down anything " she yelled, standing up, I stood up as well. "No, look at it nau, that is see finish, there's no way she will respect you in that house"

"Mummy ejo, I can assure you that it won't happen. I knew you would react this way that's why I didn't want to tell you"

"And it's good you told me because I will not let you be laughed at by my enemies, iro!" she said while shaking her head. "No son of mine will live under a  woman's roof. You will have your own home, and then put your wife in it, it won't be the other way round lai lai " she said and I massaged my temple lightly.

"Mummy please, the only reason I didn't object is because we all knew that this environment was uncomfortable for her, and you guys didn't make it any easier. That's why she did it and I couldn't stop her"

"I don't care what the reason is oh, my own is you will not live in that house. Where did she even get the money from?" she asked, and I became speechless. "You know what, don't answer that. Let me call her to return your things back home" she said and started looking for her phone.

I went in front of her and placed my hand on her shoulders, she stared at me,

"Mummy please, just calm down. Let me handle this, no matter what happens she's my wife I can't leave her alone in that house, I have to be by her side. And one way or the other, I still contributed to the house."
