Denver blinked once, then twice.
He’s beginning to see things again. It was probably because of the margarita cocktail that he had consumed earlier.
Henry patted him from behind; looking wholly confused. “Hey buddy! Why are you inside the prostitutes’ private room?”
Denver blinked again. It was a sort of realization. His cheeks stained red, probably because of the drink, the shame, and the embarrassment… or all of the above.
“Come here, Denver! This is a girls’ room!” Henry yelled.
Denver then went with Henry, like a child following his father after being swept away in the middle of nowhere.
He then saw the woman earlier sitting beside a handsome forty-year-old man in tuxedo, facing the stage to where a naked lovely lady dancing in a pole. Her clothes are vibrant and fluffy, much like her bouncing breasts and hairy genital. “You’re probably imagining things again, pal!” Henry exclaimed. He was right, very right.
Denver looked at the woman again. Damn, she definitely looked like Wisdom. The body, the skin, the size of her breasts. They do look identical to one other.
Henry snapped his finger across his face to grab his best friend's attention. “Hey, what’s wrong with you, Dennie?" “Nothing. Just tired and…drunk,” he replied while shaking his head, hoping to wake himself from that embarrassment earlier.
“Let’s go home.”
“Yeah, we certainly should.”
And Denver found himself being escorted by his bestfriend this time towards the car that was parked in the downstairs basement. He’s lucky that Henry was the one driving as he unknowingly plunged into a night’s sleep along the ride.

“She’s beautiful, Denver.”
That was the third time Denver’s mother uttered that sentence ever since the gracious Verity had laid eyes on one of her son’s managers new secretary.
“Look at her, dear boy,” Verity Giordano, his mother, inched closer to him as she commanded softly those words.
He rolled his eyes. Surely, if there is a legendary and persistent matchmaker, that would definitely be his mother Verity.
“Yeah, she's a beautiful lady. Now what, mom?”
“Now, why don’t you court her?” His mom’s eyes sparkled.
“I—what?”
His mother just smiled, like a huge diehard fan of two famous celebrities that has long been hoping for them to be together.
“If you’re not gonna do it for yourself, then do it for me.”
Denver just stared at his mother before replying, “She’s married.”
Silence shrouded. His mother’s eyes widened.
“I don’t see any wedding ring on her finger. You’re…probably lying.”
He let go of his mother’s hand that he’d been squeezing earlier and stood.
“Mother, I promise I’ll bring you a girlfriend soon. It’s just that…” He then sighed. “I’m not interested to marry a women and an expectant mother.”
Verity raised her brows. “She’s pregnant?”
“Two weeks according to the Human Resource Manager.”
Denver swore there was a flick of sadness in his mom’s eyes. “I see…so when will I see my granddaughter?”
Denver sat down again beside his mom. “Maybe a year or two from now on. As soon as I find a girlfriend, we will make a baby as soon as possible.”
Verity’s smile was as wide as the vast sky above. “I still hope that it will be her—your wife.”
He caressed his mother’s cheeks before hugging her. Denver is indeed a mother’s boy.
“What’s her name?” Verity asked during the duration of the hug.
“Wisdom Linnea Weisz.”
“What a beautiful name she has!”
Her mother inhaled before adding. “I once had a bestfriend who had an identical face and body as her.”
“Where’s she now, mom?”
“Somewhere between the clouds… or the realm of paradise as Dante Alighieri in his Divine Comedy once said.”
He felt sorrow and remorse for his mother’s friend. “You really are poetic, mom. I’m sorry.”
Seconds passed before Denver added. “So, what’s your friend’s name?”
Before his mother could reply, Gerry Grace, one of the managers of the branch that he’s having an annual visit, entered the room.
Along with him is the woman Denver and his mother had been talking earlier.
She had a body identical to Aphrodite. Her gentle face was very much the type of girl Denver had been searching for. And her eyes… damn, he could stare all-day long with those pristine turquoise eyes.
She smiled at him—Gerry’s secretary. Deep down, Denver knows it was more of a professional act only. It was an ethical way of greeting an employee to the company’s Chief Executive Officer or C.E.O. But to Denver, it was a smile that lit the sleeping flame of love inside his heart. This long buried feeling was ablaze by the woman his mother had long been looking forward to be the Mrs. Denver Giordano—Wisdom Linnea Weisz.
