Saturday night rolled around quickly as it usually did. Maddy and Cassie sat side by side in front of the mirror applying their makeup as they usually did together. "Can I borrow your eyeliner?" Maddy asked, already searching through the blonde's bag. "Sure." She spoke slowly, mouth wide as she carefully applied her mascara.

Maddy's hands rummaged through the makeup bag, feeling around for anything that felt remotely like eyeliner. She finally grabbed it, pulled it out the bag and stared at it as if it were a trophy. "Is this new?" She asked, eyebrows furrowing. "Uh yeah." Cassie dismissed as she focused on her bottom eyelashes. "I didn't know you got the same as me." She shrugged, opening the lid and bringing it towards her eye. "Especially after how shit it was."

Cassie looked over at her friend, gulping as she drew the line on her eye with ease. Maddy didn't notice Cassie's anxious face, the one she made when she was caught out in a lie. "Oh, well you know I wasn't really paying attention when you said that." She laughed it off.

"Yeah because you're too busy on your phone texting that McKay guy." Maddy shook her head dramatically. "McKay?" Cassie whispered to herself. "Yeah, how did you know..." her face flushed red. "You're so obvious that's why." Maddie closed the cap on the eyeliner, handing it back to her friend before rummaging through the bag once more.

Cassie held the eyeliner in her hand, staring at Maddy as though she were in a trance. Quickly she put the eyeliner away and began playing with her hair, staring at herself in the mirror in a way that was almost creepy. Maddy began to pick up on this, staring at the blonde through the mirror before turning to face her. "Are you ready?" Cassie switched up quick like a robot and Maddy practically jumped. "Yeah."

They walked down the stairs, waved at Suze who sat on the couch beside Lexie and left through the front door. Maddy instantly looked over at the house next door, a black and red motorbike parked in the drive way. She could finally breathe, Ash was inside and it was most likely staying that way the entire night.

The pair walked down the road, luckily enough, the party was less than five minutes away, perfect in case she lost Cassie again and had to walk herself home. As they got closer, colourful lights poured out the windows and doors of the house, music barely muffled inside the giant home. There was sure to be all sorts of complaints in a neighbourhood like this but that didn't concern Maddy, she just wanted to try and enjoy herself.

The inside of the house was humid and almost sticky, not surprising as it was full of sweaty, unhygienic teenagers. As soon as the pair entered the living room, they were instantly separated. Maddy wasn't surprised if she was being honest, this was Cassie's thing: getting excited for a party with her best friend and then disappearing less than five minutes in.

She headed to the kitchen, grabbed a red solo cup and began filling it up with a mixture of liquids. Usually, she tried not to drink so much at parties, not that she was too innocent but because alcohol wasn't really her thing; it was only useful for one of two things: cocktails and getting drunk.

Tonight that was her plan. She hadn't seen any of her other friends or even Nate yet so instead, she would be accompanied by alcohol the entire night. She spun around, back to the counter as she took a sip of her drink, her face twisting at the mixture of sour and bitterness.

People came in and out of the kitchen yet it seemed to be the quietest place. This wasn't like Maddy, hiding out in the corner like a pussy. She chugged the drink in her hand, liquid pouring down her chin as she creased her face in disgust. "Slow down, Lindsay Lohan." A familiar voice spoke.

Maddy almost choked but contained herself. She dropped the cup on the already trashed floor and wiped her chin. "What?" She raised her eyebrow, daring him to speak to her again. "You look like an alcoholic." He commented, ignoring her question.
