"Hey!" Linda yelled, her hair thrown messily on the top of her head, the keys in her hand jangling like church bells. "Was that so fucking necessary?!" She asked rhetorically after pushing the back door of the Jacobs' house open. "Was your son beating the shit out of Nate necessary?" Cal asked, sipping from his 'best dad' mug, then placing it on the counter calmly. "Oh, stop with the god complex Cal, he did just as much damage as Aslan." She rolled her eyes. "Hmm, did he?" The man with grey hair sucked his teeth, arms now bent over the solid kitchen counter. "Yes! Do you know how much the fucking hospital bill's gonna cost me?!" Her eyes teared up, but she pushed them back with every ounce of energy she had left. "Fuck!" She ran her hands across her pale face. "Fuck you!" She shouted again, cursing the man in front of her out, he only stared back, waiting for her to stop. "Get off my property, Lin." He spoke calmly, placing his hands on her shoulders before escorting her out the door she previously entered.

"Please, just drop the fucking charges, Cal." She pleaded. "I'm begging." But Cal had no sympathy for the woman standing in front of him. "I'm sorry." He shrugged slowly, watching as she walked away, shaking her head as she did so.

"Fuck." She gritted through her teeth, pulling out the last cigarette in the pack, bringing it up to her pale lips and lighting it. She quickly breathed out a puff of smoke, clicking the button on her keys and opening the car door. Her hands reached for the steering wheel, clinging on to it for dear life, trying her hardest to contain the mix of anger and sadness she felt.

"Where are we going?"Ana pulled out one of her earbuds, poking her head from behind the seat as she watched her mother. Linda stared at the young girl through the mirror, "let's go get Aslan, yeah?" She nodded, taking a puff of her cigarette before chucking it out of the window.

Ash looked around the halls as he walked to class, scanning faces to find anyone scary enough to beat the shit out of him. He liked to think of himself as a strong opponent but in reality he wasn't strong enough without the guys back in juvie; out here, no one had his back. He knew someone like Nate was the obvious option but he also knew it was way too risky to actually succeed at getting beaten the shit out of by Nate, especially with the charges.

Ash noticed Rue, someone Maddy seemed to be close with but also a regular at Fez's shop. "Rue?" He asked, sounding unsure of his pronunciation. "That would be me." She stared back at him, blinking slowly as if she was very, very high. "Uh, yeah, do you have any idea-"

"Rue!" A blonde girl yelled, clinging on to her friend and Ash looked around in confusion, she seemingly appeared out of nowhere. To him, they seemed like an odd pair, a lazy old dog and it's hyper chihuahua friend but he didn't judge. "What we're you saying?" Rue asked, eyes squinting as she completely ignored the blonde on her shoulder. "Never mind." Ash nodded slowly before walking past the pair. "Weird." Rue shrugged before finally turning to the blonde, smiling when she payed attention the the features on her face.

Ash continued to walk the halls and by now, they were very close to being empty, lessons had already commenced and he wondered what the fuck he was doing, he didn't even know what lesson he had right now because why did it matter, he would fail school anyways. "Ash?" He heard Maddy's soft yet confronting voice behind him. He spun around and there she was, at least 5 feet behind and she looked like a complete mess.

Her hair looked like it had been put up more than a week ago, the roots were greasy, her clothing was dirty and uncoordinated - unusual for someone as put together as Maddy. She wore 'uggs' with her joggers tucked into them. Everything she wore was oversized and so unlike her.
