Returning to Mandy and everyone else, she gave me a sort of gem-looking thing. "This is a fragment. We use these to travel through time, at least the normal way. Those invaders from before, they used straight-up magic, hence why they were weaker, and why they didn't leave anything behind. You'll find fragments all throughout the timeline, in every period of time." She led me out of the tent and brought me far away.

We stopped in the middle of a grassy field, which held a mysterious device I had never seen before. "This is what we call a Gate. They're used to travel through time, and unlocked with those fragments. Some times have up to 5 fragments, maybe more. But others have few. Once a gate is unlocked, it never locks again. However, certain fragments unlock certain times. Really, the best thing you can do is look for as many fragments as possible and see where they lead you." She handed me another fragment. One that glowed green, while the other glowed red. "Once you take these into the Gate, you'll unlock two times. One will be the very beginning of time, while the other is the very end of time." Time travel is way simpler than I thought. Here I was thinking that it would be really confusing. "Am I doing this alone? I know I'm gonna have to fight, and fighting alone isn't gonna be good. And what am I even gonna be faced with?" Her response, despite being quick, was also filled with uncertainty. "Well, it is gonna be pretty dangerous. You'll be dealing with wild beasts of all shapes and sizes, along with other androids that would seek to disrupt the timeline." I just didn't wanna be alone. "Is there no way anybody can come with me? There's nobody else who would want to travel through time with me?" I don't want to be alone. "You'll find someone in time. Somebody who'll also want to save the timeline, I'm sure of it. But for now, you need to go. I have to stay here and watch this time. Our paths may cross, but that's to be seen." And then she left, leaving me to go at it alone. "Well, here goes nothing." I reached out to the Gate, and it reacted by releasing this energy that absorbed the entire field, and then it sucked me in.
