"Well that was highly eventful." Hermione recounted to Hestia as they sat in their dorms that night. Hestia played with the ring on her finger, she knew things were going to be full force when she got to the castle. She just didn't think it would be that serious.
Marcus and Hestia had just gotten off the train with Hermione and the twins, everyone was obviously still not over the closeness between the two but the stares seemed to train onto her ring finger. The diamond ring was of course on show, and no one could mistake the F letter on the ring for anyone else's but Marcus Flint's family. At the dinner as everyone was eating, a small 'ahem' was heard coming from behind Hestia and Hermione. The insufferable looks given by the twins and Lee Jordan gave them both the idea that Umbridge was behind them and she was! "Ms Potter, according to the rules of the school, unless religious, jewellary is not allowed to be worn during class sessions." Hestia's face was confused as she looked around her to check if she was transported into the Classroom before looking back at Umbridge,"I'm sorry miss but this is the Great Hall, we're eating supper and not to be rude I can't take this ring out as it is my engagement ring just as I use my heir ring on my other hand." This just confirmed what the entirety of the school had already known, Marcus Flint and Hestia Potter were engaged. And although it made Hestia sick to her stomach since Marcus still wanted to play it as fake it hurt that he couldn't understand how she felt. Umbridge however didn't know that it was Marcus whom was her betrothed and glared at the girl, "Well Ms Potter wearing jewellary is forbidden whomever you are engaged to will-" "I will have to what Mam?" Marcus asked, appearing next to Hestia with a slight frown, his arm around her like any protective fiancé, Umbridge's eyes were wide as she looked between Hestia and Marcus realizing who it was that the Potter girl was bethrothed too. "I would feel much better if you didn't bully my fiancée Professor Umbridge."

"Marcus looked about ready to use an Unforgiveable on Professor Umbridge just for being rude to you Hestia!" Lavender said as she and one of the Patil twins gushed over her ring, "It's like you're in one of those dark romances!" Hermione and Hestia looked over at Lavender confused "How are they like a dark romance?" Hermione asked obviously flabbergasted, "None of us are serial killers." Lavender shook her head, as if the stupidity of the whole situation was laughable to her. "Well Marcus comes from a family of death eaters doesn't he? He's dark, brooding and mysterious, not to mention he's completely protective of you, he's the type that will burn the entire world for you or because of you. Plus he turned his back on his family for you, it's a perfect dark romance!" If only Lavender knew, Hestia thought as they lay in their bunks that night. Marcus didn't seem to go back to the night of their argument even though it was fresh in her mind, she couldn't understand how he could hold her, sleep in the same bunk as her, even pretend to be romantic with her and still not feel the same as she did. It was baffling, speaking of being used to sleeping in the same bunk as Marcus, Hestia found herself tossing and turning till she woke up, pulled on her dressing gown over her silk nightdress, a present from Sirius, and took her prefect badge with her just in case. Wandering out of the Gryffindor tower, she made her way down to the dungeons and stood in front of the Slytherin portrait. A rather imposing looking picture of a woman stood there guarding the door, looking down at the girl with a sneer, "And pray tell me...what are you doing here girl?" Hestia felt her voice get lost as she twisted her nightdress in her hands, "Im-I'm here to see Marcus Flint?...I'm his fiancée...can you please tell him I'm here, I'm sorry for bothering you Ma'am..." She said softly, the woman looked her over before disappearing and coming back a couple minutes later. The door opened and Marcus stood there, his hair messed up from bed, his eyes tinged red from wanting sleep, he stood in front of her shirtless in his sleeping pants and looked confused, "Thank you..." Hestia mumbled to the painting before looking up at Marcus, "I can't sleep." Nodding to her he held her hand and took her into the dungeons, Hestia's hands were much smaller as compared to his, and she had to take at least 3 steps to meet his 1, but he was tired and she knew Marcus hated being tired, pushing open his door to his room, there were a couple Slytherin's still awake as they watched Marcus bring in Hestia. Sitting on his bed, he rolled over to the right and lay with his hand across the pillow as he knew she would sleep on it. Hestia felt slightly embarrassed that she was wearing revealing clothes but didn't feel very worried as she knew Marcus would protect her. Taking off her nightgown and placing it on Marcus's trunk, she got into the blanket and lay next to him, slowly falling asleep.

"I wasn't going to say anything last night, but damn Marcus your fiancée is hot." Hestia's eyes slightly fluttered as she was starting to wake up, "Don't speak about the man's fiancée like that look at his face he'll kill you." Hestia's eyes slowly opened as she realized she was sleeping on Marcus's chest again, knowing she had woken up she heard Marcus speak in that low tone he normally had when he woke up, "Hermione figured out you'd be here and she sent your uniform and other particulars." Rubbing her eyes as she sat up and stretched she was well aware that the boys were looking at her, and as the strap of her nightdress slightly fell off her shoulder, she felt her gown drape over her as Marcus scowled at his dormmates.
