sometimes cassie wished she had stayed blind to her father's actions, she wished she hadn't insisted in knowing what her father was hiding from her.

her father killed the youngest walten's children, edd and molly.
he ruined an entire family.

and to think it could've been her in accident like that, it could've.
there were times in which he would drive her around while being drunk, the car swerving softly and unstable from side to side in a messy pattern while she sat in the backseat clutching anxiously the seat waiting for it, for him to just crush the car.

it never happened and they would always get home safe while a rush of adrenaline washed through her.

it felt unreal; her father was a murderer.
she felt as though people could read her thoughts and that's what she feared.
did they know? all those people she saw at school everyday and all the people she met after after she finished school, didn't they feel weird about her father? could they tell he was a murderer?

and cassie's mind would always drift back to that night she found out her father had killed edd and molly.

"if you tell anyone — i swear to god — i'll fucking kill you" felix's voice was shaky as he voiced the empty threat into the dimly lit kitchen, where her daughter was standing, with foggy glasses and absolutely no confidence.
an absolute lie he voiced out of pure anger and frustration at himself.

he would never actually kill her, no he wasn't like that.
he felt his own eyes start wetting afterwards as he watched cassie stand in front of him, frozen, with bloodshot eyes and tears coating her face as she slightly nodded.
