An excited (Name) sat on her bed, buzzing with joy as she awaited her big brothers return. He had promised to tell her everything that had happened during his time away, after he had told Dragon, obviously.
So she sat, waiting no longer than twenty minutes until the blond walked into the room.
He chuckled as he watched the girls trembling form, and quickly removed his top hat and coat, before sitting opposite her on her bed.
"Alright (Name)-Chan. What do you want to know?"
"Everything! Did you find Luffy? Did you destroy the weapons Intel? Oh,oh, did you kick ass?!"
Sabo laughed and patted her head, a gesture that the (h/c) smiled at.
"Ok, ok. Calm down. Yes, I did see Luffy."
She grinned enormously. Like a child. Sabo always thought that the lack of joy she held as a child, would be the soul reason she acted like one now. A midlife crisis if you will. But he wasn't sure. Whenever he tried to mention the subject, she'd change it quickly.
As the girl babbled question after question, Sabo found a soft smile pulling his lips. He had missed the little ray of sunshine sat before him. However, he hadn't wanted to risk bringing her with him to a place ruled by 'The Heavenly Demon'. And therefore personally requested Dragon not include her in this mission.
Sighing, he placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Ne,(Name)-Chan. I have something to show you, but only if you calm down, ok?"
"Hai!"
He pulled his hand away, and took a deep breath. He took off his right glove, and raised his hand, palm facing up.
"Ne, Onee-"
"Shh."
He whispered, raising his gloved, left index finger to his lips with a small grin. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, he concentrated on restricting his new power to his hand. And suddenly, a burst of orange flame exploded on his palm.
"Ah!"
(Name) yelped, falling backward. Her left hand flew behind herself, holding her weight up as she stared, wide eyed at the flames licking at her brothers palm.
"Don't be scared, (Name)-Chan. It's the power of the Mera-Mera no mi."
He grinned, watching as the expression on her face changed from one of shock, to one of amazement.
"You got it?"
She gasped, crawling forward to examine the flames. She raised her palm so it was parallel to his, just above the heat dancing on his hand.
"I got it."
Her eyes left fire, and moved up to gaze into her brothers. She knew what this meant. It meant he had risked his life in corrida colosseum, like he said he would. Fought against powerful foes, all on his own, and won his brothers devil fruit.
He had inherited Ace's will.
Tears gathered in her eyes, making Sabo extinguish the flames in his palm and pull her into a hug.
"(Name)-Chan, what's wrong?!"
Sniffling, she returned her brothers embrace and wound her arms around his neck.
"N-nothing...I'm just so happy you got it."
She pulled back, and took his face into her delicate palms. Her beautiful (e/c) hues gazing into his azure blue gems. Tears rolled down her cheeks, and dripped off of her chin.
"You haven't seen them in so long."
She whispered gently.
"You deserved that fruit. You deserved to see your brother. After twelve years, you deserved this, Sabo."
She smiled softly. It was unlike her to call him by his name. And even more so when she added no 'San' on the end.
He whipped her tears away with his thumbs, and leaned in to place a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Once again, he gathered her in his arms. Resting his chin on her head, and rubbing her back tenderly. He blinked away the tears that were gathering in his own eyes.
"Thank you."
