-Normal POV-

Sabo's suspicions had been correct. Dragon had wanted nothing more than to discuss the events of which happened aboard the submarine. (Name) didn't hide anything, well, apart from the few heated moments she had had with Law. But those tiny details were irrelevant.

It was midnight when (Name) left Dragon's office, and the second she was alone, her stomach barked for food. And she wasn't about to deny it's request.

Despite her low tolerance of the dark, she boldly soldiered through the thick blackness, until she arrived at the kitchen. Flipping the light switch, the room was illuminated. However, the newly found light offered little comfort.

The shadows cast onto the walls by the furniture looked like other-worldly beings. Ready to pounce on her and rip her to shreds at any given moment. The dark corners of the room of which the light could not reach could easily harbour a murderer or rapist. She knew she was being paranoid, but she couldn't help it.

Yeah, thanks for that dad.

Her mind spat. Since the day she had abandoned her home, she had refused to use the Japanese for her father's name. To her, using the kanji was a sign of respect. And she had none of that for her father.

Sighing, she reluctantly turned her back to the creeping shadows, and quickly rummaged through the fridge for some sort of edible substance. She knew she'd have more look finding decent food in the storage room; but no way was she going into an oversized cupboard at night.

Her eyes landed on a batch of frosting. Chocolate to be precise. Knowing this delicacy to be for Koala's cupcakes, she simply took a quick scoop with her finger, and put it back. Continuing her search.

Sucking her finger thoughtfully, a small throbbing began to overtake her head.

-un...

Run!

Gasping, she staggered away from the fridge, bumping against the counter. Yet another terrible memory. This particular memory was of the village of which had become her haven after she left home. The people were kind, and she was adopted within a week.

However, her happiness there was short lived. A spontaneous fire, of which is still being investigated, had broken out. Killing the majority of it's inhabitants... All of them... Except (Name). It was there Dragon found her.

Memories of fire, blood and screams plagued her mind. She began to stumble away from the counter, gripping at her head as the desire to scream bubbled in her throat. But she couldn't allow it. She knew if she did, her power would kill anyone nearby. Those few days ago, when she had broke down in the corridor, she had to restrict her power. An exhausting task, that being the reason she passed out.

Suddenly, a pair of warm arms surrounded her waist. An instant image of her father massacred her mind, and she wheeled round, back-handing whoever it was. Hard.

Her eyes widened as she laid notice to familiar blond curls.

"S-Sabo..."

She breathed, begining to cower away. Groaning, the male raised his head from it's thrown-to-the-right position, and pressed calloused fingers to his lower lip. Blood painting the appendages.

"I..."

Blinking down at the red substance, Sabo began to chuckle. It was clearly forced, a small quantity of hurt lingering behind the joyous sound. He lifted his sad, azure blue pools to gaze at her.

"Quite the strength you got there."

He joked. But (Name) didn't fall for it. She knew he was hurt and confused. She had to explain what happened.

"Sabo! Gomen-nasai! I...thought you were...someone else! I...would never hit you..."

She mumbled the last bit almost incoherently.

Sabo bunched his eyebrows. Who in the world could she have thought he was? And why would she want to hit this person? The look in her (e/c) orbs suggested she was remembering something; something traumatic. The blond did not want to pry.

Quickly scampering to the freezer, she grabbed some ice, a paper towel, and bagged up the cold chunks of water. He sat on the counter while she rushed about, before quickly shuffling to him, and pressing the ice to his lip.

Sabo hissed in pain, eyes squeezing shut. Muttering another apology, (Name) cringed as the white paper towel, began to bleed red. His blood being soaked into the material.

Opening a single, blue hue to gaze at her, he felt bad for sneaking up on her. Worst part was, he knew she'd be pinning this entire situation on herself.

"(Name)..."

He muttered, pushing her hand away as he took her lips gently. The immediate, and very potent, taste of copper met her tongue. Making her recoil slightly. But she didn't back away. The warmth on her lips was the only thing offerening her comfort right now.

The sweet gesture was quickly ended as Sabo stood up, offering her a hand and gentle smile.

"Come on, bed time. You've had a trying few days and you need sleep. Share my bed if you want to."

She blushed slightly, but nodded. She would need his warm embrace if she were to sleep tonight.

As they reached the room, both got changed. Sabo in the bathroom, (Name) in the bedroom. When the blond emerged, he was clad in his pyjama bottoms and no more. The usual for him. (Name) was in a tank top and fabric shorts, again, the usual.

Sabo climbed into bed, holding open the covers for the girl who climbed in shyly. He smiled sweetly, and pulled her head to his chest. Cradling her close, Sabo made sure she was asleep before dozing off himself.

Weirdly enough, it was the best nights sleep either of them had gotten in a long time.
