Ch 14. Night In The Woods

Sebastian's POV

Sebastian had been thinking about his relationship with Y/N a lot; since they were spending so much time together. We're just friends. He told himself. Friends that just so happen to keep falling asleep together. He wanted more than that, Y/N was the first girl Sebastian found himself thinking about romantically. He had thought about pursuing a relationship with Abigail, but he definitely never felt like this about her.

Now that there was a girl he was interested in he didn't know how to proceed or if he even should. He knew he should make a decision. If he decided dating Y/N wouldn't work out then he'd just try to forget the idea, simple enough. When it came to pursuing her he had no idea how to go about it. He couldn't just go buy her a bouquet and hope she said yes, he wasn't even sure she knows what that means. Was asking someone to go steady with you right from the beginning how people did things? Sebastian doubted it. His indecision was starting to drive him crazy. Why don't I just pick the petals off of a flower? I should. I shouldn't. I SHOULD. I shouldn't. He thought sarcastically to himself. Now that he thought about it maybe it wasn't such a bad idea. Sebastian wouldn't be caught dead picking the petals off a flower though. He finally concluded that if Y/N could beat him in their rematch he'd pursue her, if not he'd forget about it. When they played Sebastian had gone all out, at least almost. If he wanted to he could play a perfect game nearly every time, but if he did then there was no point in basing his decision on the game now was there? After Y/N had matched his initial display he was impressed. At the moment Sebastian had sunk all of her balls but one he found that he didn't want to sink it. He didn't want to win. He wanted to try his damnedest to be with her. Watching her finish their game with ease felt like a sign he was making the right decision. He felt bad that their game had upset her, but he was still glad he finally knew what he wanted to do. Now he was back to thinking about the problem that he had no idea how. He sighed, earning a quizzical glance from Sam. As the four of them walked to Y/N's farm the two girls walked ahead chatting while the boys walked a few paces behind. Sebastian spoke in a hushed voice so the girls couldn't hear them.

"So hypothetically, if I um." Sebastian struggled to ask his question. The hesitation confused Sam even more. "If I wanted to maybe try dating Y/N" he mumbled the last bit, but Sam heard and his eyes glittered with excitement. "How would I like, go about that?"

Sam affectionately clapped a hand on Sebastian's shoulder.

"I knew this would happen eventually! I'm impressed I thought you were gonna keep sitting on your ass for at least another year or so." Sam whispered excitedly, the lack of sarcasm hurt Sebastian's pride. Was he that bad? "What brought this on?" He inquired.

"I decided I'd try to see where our relationship might go if she beat me in our rematch."

"But you just let her win!"

"No. If she hadn't finished the game in her turn I would have taken my last shot. Then I would have tried to just forget about my feelings."

Sam rolled his eyes and stared at Sebastian doubtfully.

"Look even if that were true-" Sebastian started to object but Sam silenced him with one hand. "- you still made the decision you want to at least try dating Y/N. I don't think you would just 'forget your feelings' when you know you don't want to just because you told yourself you would."

Sebastian knew Sam was right, although he didn't want to admit it.

"Well, whatever. So… Do you have any idea what I should do?"

"Oh hell yeah dude." Sam pulled Sebastian's shoulders so their heads were right next to each other and slouched. "You just hit her with a classic like… You and I are like nachos and jalapenos. I'm super cheesy, you're super hot, and we belong together."
