1 what inspired the idea of your story?

I got inspired to write my story while reading an article about Alice Ida Antoinette Guy-Blaché (née Guy; French pronunciation: ​[alis gi blɑʃe] ; 1 July 1873 – 24 March 1968) was a French pioneer filmmaker.[2] She was one of the first filmmakers to make a narrative fiction film,[3] as well as the first woman to direct a film. From 1896 to 1906, she was probably the only female filmmaker in the world.[4] She experimented with Gaumont's Chronophone sync-sound system, and with color-tinting, interracial casting, and special effects. In 1894, Alice Guy was hired by Félix-Max Richard to work as a secretary for a camera manufacturing and photography supply company. She is actually the mother of Tali Buscarino, my main character. Of course Tali is fictional and I doubt Alice Guy was ever a young mother but it makes for a good story

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

 I struggled with ideas sometimes. I had writer's block and I wanted to add all sorts of real historical events or places, like the school Tali goes to when she's 14 and the coal mines which collapsed frequently, even the work house conditions 

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?

I enjoyed writing about all the hardships she went through... though it sounds mean. I did like putting her through some horrible things and having her survive. Maybe that's how God feels when he puts his children through awful things. When I write I feel like God

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

The overall response is positive for now. Many of them like analyzing my characters which makes me happy as it means they are well written.

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

I am planning for it to be part of a series... at least not with Tali as the main character again but maybe her stepdaughter or adoptive daughter in the future. I used to love getting my grandmothers to tell me stories of when they were young, and I found out some very interesting things about them...

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?

I would like them to realize they CAN go through the difficulties in life they think are impossible to overcome, even if they come one after the other. Life is all about stress and excitement 

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?

I'm no big-shot best seller... in fact I'm still trying to get my first book properly published in print in bookstores. So I don't think I'm the right person to give advice but they should not give up no matter what. Even if they think the way they're writing the story at the time is a bit jerky or doesn't flow they need to keep going. They can always go back and edit it. I've edited my stories plenty of times. If you have an idea you can develop it even if it goes slowly. Don't let it die!

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?

Both my main character and I lash out and are very impulsive. But I'm more passive aggressive 

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

To be honest... I just like to stay hopeful. There's an audience for everyone. I think my audience would identify with the abuse some of my characters go through 

10 do you have any future projects?

 I have many future projects. In fact I'm working on my first ever story about suicide.
