two fics i wrote combined, sorry its bad and rushed (also i didnt read this in advance)
Eddie stared at himself in the mirror, he didn't recognize himself. He hadn't had a haircut in a while, and he just ran out of hair gel. His hair was naturally wavy, and his mom hated it. He could understand why, he looked identical to his dad already, but his bair made him look even more like him; and Sonia didn't like to even remember Frank. Ever since he died Sonia had made sure he always had hair gel in, and she made sure there were no photos of him in the house (there was a photo album of photos that his grandma gave him of his dad, but to hide it from Sonia he put it under his bed).
"Eddie-Bear! Someone's on the phone for you!"
"Coming, Ma!" He decided to put on a red hoodie Richie gave him to hide his hair from his mom, and he went downstairs.
"Hello?" Eddie took the phone as his mom left the room.
"'Ello Spaghetti-o! Was wonderin' if you wan'ed to go to the Quarry with me, Bev, Billy-Boy, and Haystack! Stan and Mike would come but they've got other matters to attend to, good sir!" Richie was doing his British accent again, and Eddie could tell that he was extra hyper today.
"Jesus, sounds like someone's adderall needs to be bumped up. But yeah, sure I'll come, let me ask my mom one second." Eddie pulled the phone away from his ear and shouted. "Ma, can I go to hang out with Bill at his house today?"
"Sure, Eddie-Bear, just be careful with your allergies."
"My mom said yes, when are we going?"
"Hmm...I'll be by your house in ten."
"Okay, see ya Rich."
He hung up the phone and immediately went back upstairs and to the bathroom, looking at his hair in the mirror again. It was kind of...nice. It was just new. It kind of hurt to see a younger version of his dead dad looking back at him, but that was too dark for him to be thinking about.

Eddie left his house, and was greeted by Richie waiting outside for him. "Where's your bike?" Eddie asked.
"Just wanted to walk today, since you don't live far from the Quarry." Richie shrugged and Eddie nodded, walking with him.
"Why are you wearing a hoodie?" Richie asked, and Eddie took it off, putting it under his arm.
"Long story, I ran out of hair gel and my mom doesn't like it when I don't gel it down. I know, it looks awful."
"N-No! It doesn't. It looks- nice." Richie blushed furiously, which confused Eddie thoroughly.
"Thanks."
"We aren't actually going to the Quarry." Richie mumbled, talking a million miles a minute.
"What?"
"I lied. I wanted to show you something on the kissing bridge and you live near it so..." Richie refused to make eye contact with Eddie, his face and ears a bright shade of red.
"Oh. Okay." Eddie smiled at him, and Richie looked up, confused.

When they got to the bridge, Richie stopped in the middle of it, pointing at a carving. R+E
"IcarvedthisandIlikeyouandImsorryImruiningeverythingandImreallyscaredrightnowalsoImsorryanditsfineyoudontfeelthesameway." Richie practically screamed, causing Eddie to jump back a little.
"Really?"
Richie nodded, tears now streaming down his face. God, he regretted this already. He felt so small, so vulnerable. He felt weak.
Eddie looked around them, and without thinking, he kissed Richie. It was probably the best moment of either of their lives.
"I like you too."
"Oh...Oh my God holy shit." Richie stood there in shock, smiling.
"Boyfriends?"
"Boyfriends."
