❝𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝 - 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬❞

"AHAHAHAHA!"

Asmodeus' loud laughter rang throughout the dining room as the demon brothers and Emi sat down to eat breakfast. The only two brothers that weren't there yet were Lucifer and Mammon.

The seventh brother also wasn't there, which greatly infuriated Emi.

"Asmodeus, keep your voice down" said Satan, looking exasperated. "If Mammon hears you, he'll get upset again, and we won't hear the end of it."

Asmodeus shrugged Satan's words off. "Eh, he won't be awake for a while. He's really not a morning demon, you know?" he began laughing again. "And anyway, how can you NOT laugh after what's happened? I mean, this is Mammon, and yet a human was able to play him like a fiddle and force him into a pact."

Emi kept her gaze fixed on her food, not desiring to join in on the conversation. She took another bite of her toast, absorbed in her own thoughts.

Beelzebub had mentioned that Lucifer had prohibited his brothers from speaking about the seventh brother... why could that be?

Emi heard Satan chuckling due to Asmodeus' words. "Pf... heheheh."

"Hey, I hear you laughing, Satan!" Asmodeus exclaimed, laughing once again. "I know you think it's funny, too!"

"Mm, this is delicious." Beelzebub said, his mouth stuffed with food. "The meat is so tender..."

"Yup, the food's really good." Emi chimed in, feeling slightly relieved for the change of subject.

"Beel, calm down." Leviathan said, eyeing Beelzebub. "You're biting off chunks of your plate along with your food."

Emi gazed towards Beelzebub's direction and saw that Leviathan was right; Beelzebub had already bitten about one-third of his plate off.

"Anyway," Asmodeus said, turning to speak to Emi. "I have to say I'm surprised. I never thought an average human like you would be able to make a pact with Mammon -- certainly not THIS fast."
Asmodeus was gazing intensely at Emi, and she took her gaze off her food to look at him.
"I guess they really did know what they were doing when they picked you for the exchange program, huh?" he remarked.

"I did what I could, that's all." said Emi. She focused her gaze back on her breakfast.

"There's no need to be humble about it." Satan said. Emi looked back up to see that he had a small smile on his face. "We're not upset. Honestly, we think it's pretty funny."
