THE EXPECTED UNEXPECTED

"I bet it didn't go that bad." I comment on my friend's dramatic way of telling stories.

Ana went on the date, but apparently it didn't go as she planned and actually took a turn of events that are dressing her out. But then again, dramatic.

"Babe, I'm telling you! It was so awkward by the end… What if I ruined our friendship? Maybe I should have just stayed friends with Hyunjin and that's it…" I hold her hand as she looks down. I know she's sad, she really likes Hyunjin, I think she's even in love, so it's my duty to make sure I can comfort her and help her situation as much as possible.

"Just tell me everything from the beginning."

"Okay, well, it started normal, we got in the car and on the way to the restaurant we were talking a lot and even flirting a bit…" She blushes a bit but goes on "Until we got to the place and sat down everything was perfect, the restaurant was so pretty and it was all going well, I was really happy… until Hyunjin went to the bathroom." And she looks me in the eyes. I'm confused.

"How is that bad-"

"I'm getting there babe, be patient." Ana cuts me off.

"Sorry… go on."

"Anyways, him going to the bathroom wasn't a problem, the problem was the guys that decided to hit on me while he was gone."

"Those motherfuck-" She quickly stops me by putting her hand up as a way of saying 'not worth it'.

"Good thing Hyunjin came right on time to help me, but I was too uncomfortable already and I knew he was about to go off so I just left the place with him." Ana trails off. "So we settled for street food and just went on a walk and then sat down by the street benches, the pretty ones you know?" I nod my head 'yes'. "We finished eating and as we were talking, he was looking in my eyes and he got closer and I got closer and we were about to kiss- boom, Angelica." Ana rolls her eyes and lets her head fall into the couch's headrest.

"Angelica as in, Hyunjins ex Angelica?" My eyes widened at my friend's story, it sounded like a soap opera.

"Yup… She started greeting us and then talking like, read the room?! And, here's the worst part, when she left it got super awkward between me and Hyune and we didn't speak the entire walk and drive home, except for goodbyes." Ana crawls into me, resting her head on my shoulder and I pull her closer for a hug and start caressing her back with my hand to comfort her.

"Hey… don't be sad, it will pass, I promise. If Hyunjin went all the way to almost kissing you it's because he really likes you, you know how he is, he's normally more cautious about these things first." Ana looks up at me and I can see a tiny pout on her lips.

"Are you sure?"

"100%! Just give it some time okay?" She nods and rests her head on me again. "Now, what should we watch?"

It was still morning and I was preparing some drinks for the customers. I finish them and walk to the table putting down the drinks and the vales they ordered.

When I walked in there was a very smiley Chan, too smiley even.

"What do you want Christopher?" I say as I walk to the coffee machine to clean it out and the counter before more clients ask me to prepare them coffees.

"Me? Pft! I'm just smiling at my very very beautiful best friend who is also a darling and always helps her friends when needed." I can feel his eyes on me, pressuring me as I clean the machine. I look at him with a serious face knowing he won't be able to hold it longer.
