LITLLE MISS REGRET

Mili's POV

I wake up to the smell of food and open my eyes.

I get up from the bed, head pounding and cold. I walk to the kitchen, still groggy and see Chan cooking and the table with pancakes and fresh orange juice.

"Morning." I mark my presence and sit down on a chair.

Chan swifts his head quickly to take a look but returns to cooking.

"Hi, how are you?" He flips the pancake over.

"Shitty."

"Thought so, you can start eating, and there is aspirin there too but please drink with water not juice." He brings the pancake and piles it with the rest.

"Thanks mom." I chuckle and Chan Rolls his eyes.

I take the aspirin and start digging in.

Chan's pancakes are the best, he said he had learned the recipe with his mom and I
believe so, they have that motherly touch in the flavor.

"So…" Chan starts "do you remember anything from last night?" he stares at me.

"Umh… Wait, give me a minute to think about it." I smile and continue eating.

When I get drunk I'm able to remember
what happened but it still takes some time, in the morning especially, because my brain does not function properly at this time.

I finally start recalling what happened and my cheeks heat up.

What is wrong with me, seriously? Baby? Skirt? Unless??

Then the last memory hits me.

"I remember now…" I look down at my food as an attempt to hide my flustered state.

"Yeah…"

"I'm Sorry Chan, It was probably uncomfortable for you." I gather the courage to look at him and he is smiling softly.

"It didn't, it's fine Mili, It was cute. You are cute." He says while smiling and taking a bite of the food.

All I can do now is blush more.

"Yeah, but even the 'baby' thing? It must've been so weird-"

"It was actually really nice to hear you call me that, like I said, cute." He looked straight at me this time.

He wasn't smiling anymore, he wore a small smirking and messy hair, my most feared combination.

"I do have one question though." Chan says.

"Hit me." I lean on the table, resting my face on my hands while I wait for Chan to ask his question. He takes his time staring at me for a second as if he is scared to ask.

“When we went to sleep, you said something to me, do you remember that?” Chan’s head tilts a bit to the side.

I do remember, but I don’t want to.

“What if… I liked you?”

I don’t remember his answer, that’s if he did answer but I fell asleep right after and I feel bad. It must have been uncomfortable for him when I said it all the sudden. I feel embarrassed and to spare me and my best friend from awkwardness I think it’s better if I just pretend like I don’t remember anything.

“Uhm… No, I don’t remember. Did I say anything weird?” I laugh, trying to get a reaction from Chan but he only nods and stands up, picking up the plates.
