Natalie grew up as a very energetic and annoying child.  She would draw on the walls of the mansion,  which left her parents incredibly mad at her.  Natalie was often left in her room for hours and hours as punishment.  This left her as an incredibly attention seeking child.  Pranking the cleaners of the house and annoying the neighbours.  Whenever the neighbours kids would come out,  she would throw sticks and rocks at them in order to start fights.  The way should would act up would leave her in her room for an even longer amount of time,  even causing her to miss dinner.  When she started school,  she was incredibly behind in her work.  She would not do homework,  would play around and shout when everyone was having lunch,  and would call out the strangest things at playtime.  When she would walk home,  other students would either avoid her,  or follow her home and throw things at her.  Then when she got home,  she would get in huge trouble for being a mess.  Her only friend was her aunt Selene.

Selene stayed in a very small room in the mansion,  and Natalie called it the  "pendant cave"  because of how many charms and necklaces were hanging on the walls.  Because of how small the room was,  all of Selene's possessions were crammed into stacked boxes.  Most of her possessions included antique dolls and jewellery.  Natalie would spend her happier days in the pendant cave with her aunt,  and she would tell her stories.  Natalie would pick out anything from the room,  and aunt Selene would explain the story of that item to her niece.  One day,  Natalie picked out a porcelain doll.  She had thick,  wavy black hair and green eyes,  kind of resembling her own.  "Now tell me about this dolly?  Tell me!  She looks like me!  I really like her."  Natalie said happily to her aunt.  Selene took a good look at the doll and knew exactly which one it was.  "Ah,  I haven't given that one a name yet,  I just call her the green eyed doll,  because her green eyes remind me of yours.  I got her in 1980,  long before you were born.  I went to the Tilba Tilba markets,  and a merchant was selling her for a low price.  I loved her eyes,  although,  they were actually brown when I bought her..  hey,  I could just be misremembering!  So,  I bought the doll,  and I knew there was something special about her.  Her beautiful plaited green dress and white tights were adorable,  so I never got rid of her,  ever."  Selene said.  "Can I have her?"  Natalie asked as she hugged the doll.  Selene smiled  "maybe when you're older.  She means a lot to me,  and I'll wait a while until you're more careful with your things.  Remember that bracelet you lost?  I don't want that to happen again with something more important."  she said.  Natalie huffed and then carefully put the doll back into the box with the others.  "Don't be sad,  I can't have her forever!  You will own her someday."  Selene smiled.  Natalie smiled back.
