Selene sat in her room, thinking about how Natalie hadn't sat with her for weeks.. she missed the times when she was younger and would pick out an item from her room, expecting a story about it.. she missed watching her jump around and be amazed by every little thing in the room, as if she were in a thrown room.. and she missed when she would call it the "pendant cave", unlike how she calls it "aunt Selene's room" nowadays.. she sighed and then got up to get a drink of water from the kitchen. She opened the door to see Natalie standing there with her doll in her arms. "Ah! Sorry, dear, you scared me. We're you on your way to my room?" She asked. Natalie nodded. Selene glanced at the doll as it sat in Natalie's arms. "Have you thought of a name for your doll?" She asked. "Valerie." Natalie responded.
There was silence for half a minute. "Valerie..?" Selene asked. Natalie nodded. "It can't be.." Selene said. "Why not?" Natalie responded. Selene got every disturbing thought out of her head, and tried to shrug it off as a crazy coincidence. "Nothing love, I just misheard you, haha." She lied. "I see." Natalie replied as she walked back to her room. Selene had no idea how she had thought of that name, since she had never explained to her daughter what happened in 1988.. what happened to her cousin..
While Natalie was in her room, she placed the doll on the desk and lit candles around it again.. she muttered her praises to it until the candles went out, and she put the doll in the drawer for bed. The time was about 8:40, and Natalie was already asleep. Petunia quietly entered the room to check on her daughter, and was happy to see her sleeping peacefully. The drawer containing the doll was closed, so she didn't see it in it's pretend bed. She left the room and then closed the door.
