The next day, I finally got out of hospital, all healed up. Not fully, but enough to take care of myself.
Zhongli helped me off of the hospital bed. I groaned in pain - I was still a little sore.

"Don't rush. I am here." He said, standing closely behind me in case I had any trouble.

Baizhu noticed us step out of the room and smiled.
"Hi, you two! How are you feeling, Y/N?" He asked.

"I'm okay, now. Thank you so much for the support." I grinned.

He chuckled and gave me a nod.
"Anytime. Enjoy the rest of your day, yeah? Take it easy."

---

Zhongli took me back to his home where we could settle for a while.
I leaned back on the couch and let out a comforted sigh. It was nice to be back in a familiar atmosphere.

He sat beside me, a pink shade lighting up his cheeks.
"So, ah... are we going to discuss yesterday...?"

I chuckled and lifted my eyebrows.
"What about it?~"

"Playing dumb? That's the last thing I expect from you, Y/N." He replied. The rosy hue on his face got brighter.

I leaned in closer towards him, and watched as his eyes widened.
"Oh, yes, about yesterday... how about we go to that mountain you mentioned tonight? We can watch the stars, as planned, and potentially share a kiss again?"

Zhongli laughed, like he was pretending to be flustered. I tilted my head in confusion.
"As much as I would love to do that, my dear, you're still healing. Climbing a mountain isn't essential when you've just left the hospital."

Dear?
I couldn't tell if he was genuinely being a flirt or just doing an impression of Baizhu. Either way, it was quite a rare sight.

"Then scrap the mountain, let's go somewhere more local. Hm... oh, I know! There's a bridge near Northland bank and if you go across there's a seating area! It'll be a great view from there."

"All right then, it's a plan."

I looked at the bandage on his neck and took a deep breath.
"How's the... um...-"

"Ah, this? Don't fret, it does not hurt. Remember I let you bite me because you needed it, okay? I promise."

---
The day passed and obviously there was not much to do, considering the stitches. However, Zhongli kept me company the entire time and my appreciation went through the roof.

He helped me up the polished red stairs, and then we passed Northland bank. Luckily, the place with the table and chairs was completely empty.
I sat down, and Zhongli took a seat across from me.

I leaned my arm on the balcony. Each and every one of the stars were gorgeous, the night sky was aglow with the bright lanterns of Liyue. We stared in fascination at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity.

"This reminds me of... old times."
Zhongli smiled. His eyes were twinkling, as if he had never seen the galaxy above.

"She would've loved you."
I whispered. He heard me, and hummed.

"My mother. I don't remember her very well, but she definitely would've loved you. You're smart, and you know how to treat someone correctly. So... thank you."

Zhongli took my hand and kissed my knuckles softly. My gaze softened.
"You saved Liyue from fire and evil. My love and gratitiude towards you increases every second of every day, you're perfect. So, no... I thank you."

And now the story comes to an end.
Even if we are both two different species, and our time as friends didn't run as smoothly as it could've... the love that replaced it overcame everything. That's how life is.

We don't know what is to come, nor what we are waiting for. Though with each other's embrace, company and affection, we can get through whatever challenges approach.

And, as strange as it sounds, one statement always rings in my mind.

I fell in love with a god, and said god fell in love with a vampire.
