In which, a young lady bids farewell to her beloved older brother
⚠️No warnings this is pure fluff⚠️
In this one, William hasn't told you anything about his upcoming death, and is sending you to France where you can be safe as the final problem unfolds, with the excuse that this final stage of his plan may expose you to harm, as his lover. Before you leave, you decide to say goodbye to your friends in the Moriarty Manor.
You knock on the heavy door, waiting patiently the eldest Moriarty to answer.
"Come in" you hear his deep, elegant voice, and push the door open right after. You are met with the sight of Albert James Moriarty, standing in front of the window, his eyes scanning the rainy sky outside. Upon hearing the door close, the young count turns around to face you, his eyes close and his eyebrows rise, whilst his hands fold behind his back.
"My dear (Y/n)... I must admit I was expecting you... " He speaks, his eyes holding an unfamiliar warmness.
"Good evening, Albert" you reply, bowing slightly, out of respect and love for your fiance's dear brother.
"I take it you are here to say your final goodbyes?" He asks and mentions you to sit on an armchair by the fire, but you decline with a slight shake of your head.
"Yes, that's the reason of my visit..."
You wander around his room, inspecting all the photographs he has with himself and his two brothers, and Albert waits for your words patiently, untill you finally speak.
"There are some things I've been wanting to tell you for a long time now... But, mainly out of shyness, I've delayed this matter... Untill now, that my sudden departure has forced me to express my thoughts..."
You confess, while Albert brings a hand on his chin, focusing entirely on you "Do go on if you will"
Your eyes land on the carpeted floor "Firstly... I... I've been wanting to thank you, Albert" you approach his tall figure, "for everything you've done for me these years... And mainly, for allowing me to be a part of your family. I understand the risk that must have come with this decision. Thank you for letting me stay by William's side...." your hands reach for his and you clasp it tightly. "It hurts me that I have to leave you, really...." You
you look up, to meet his soft emerald gaze, "And, truth is that... I've come to think of you as an older brother as well, even if I never dared to call you such..."
Albert is surprised, his eyes widen, but quickly his expression changes to a sweet one, looking ot you with pure gratitude. You once more look down, hoping you didn't severe your bond with the man you have come to admire so."Thank you for sharing this with me, (Y/n). I am most grateful" you feel his hands squeezing yours back, "After watching you warming your way inside my brother's heart, it was only natural for me to invite you in our house...." His gaze trails again towards the window, "I admit watching my younger brother being happy, I myself felt unimaginable joy... And I must thank you as well, for making William happy..."
Suddenly he breaks his hold of your hands, you look up.
"And, I have to confess" Albert gently cups your cheeks, "That I've come to think of you as a little sister as well" he says softly, then leans in, to press a loving kiss on your forehead.
Your eyes shine in startle, but your surprise is quickly replaced by a warm feeling of familial love you've never felt before. Albert looks at you sweetly "I hope we'll see each other one day, my dear little sister" he whispers.
You embrace him tightly, and his large arms envelope you as well "Take care, my dear brother"
And, with a final kiss upon his cheek and a final meet of your eyes- now sharing a new, deeper bond than before, you leave him, alone, in his dark room again, thinking weather you'll be able to see your older brother again, or this brief moments of affection shall be your last...
