That day you couldn't find peace, jumping from foot to foot. William's  life was nearing its end, a fact you were ignoring for all this time, thinking it won't happen if you neglect it. How foolish. But now, the inevitable event, crucial for the reform of this country, was closer than ever before....  You couldn't continue ignoring it anymore...
You hadn't anything else to ask from William... Everything within his power and reach, had given to you. Anything you desired, craved for, all he had offered. Simply to make you happy. To see your smile. To hear your giggles. But, even so, there was still a favour you wanted him to fulfill. It was selfish, that you knew very well, but still. If he was going to disappear from your life, you wanted this last service.
And so, one chilly evening, you found him on the living room, resting on his armchair, cigarette on hand and told him your request.
"You want us to marry?" He put away the cigarette - always mindful to not smoke in front of you- his voice held a tone of curiosity and confusion.
You replied that marriage has been occupying your mind for a while now, sitting on a chair by his right.
William simply looked at you with a soft expression painted on his face- you could swear you could melt inside his bloody, scarlet rubies of eyes, a small chuckle escaped his lips, when he opened his mouth to bless you once more with his melodic voice.
"My dear, I do not wish to hurt your feelings. But, you surely understand that marriage would be only dangerous now that my name is publicly known... Not to mention that it would be meaningless for-"
You clasped his soft hand tightly on yours, your eyes gleamed as you plead.
"It can be in secret! It doesn't have to be formal! We can ask brother Albert or mr. Moran to marry us! Please, my love" , your eyebrows formed into a frown whilst you scooped closer to the crime consultant,  "I just want to share the name of the man I love. I don't care if it's stained in blood. I wish us to have a connection even if... any of us is no longer... present..." . Your daggers of words came out of your lips with uncertainty but passion. You watched as the man's sharp characteristics softened even more at your confession. A bitter smile painted his face, while his free hand rose to meet your cheek. Professor William James Moriarty has had always wanted to marry you, to make you his, to lead a merry life full of joy and happiness with you as his loyal partner. But he couldn't, or more accurately; he couldn't allow himself. His everything had to be sacrificed for his goals; for equality, for peace, for a brighter future and a pure country for you, Louis, his friends to live on. You closed your eyes to the gentle caress of his knuckles on your skin, awaiting for his answer. "Very well. If you are not exposed to harm then I have no objections". Your whole being lightened up following his words, you brought his hand on your lips, almost like you had received a holy priest's blessings. "Thank you William... Thank you"

It didn't take long for the second Moriarty to arrange the "ceremony". His older brother immediately agreed on marrying you with pleasure, and finding a day which all the team would be free wasn't as difficult as one would think.
And like this, under the shade of the giant tree near the greenhouse, your souls were to be united.
Albert took one of your and William's hands in each of his, after all had gathered up. Jack, Colonel Moran, Fred, James, miss Moneypenny, even Herder was dragged out of his factory to attend. Louis was struggling to hold back tears - his emotional instability only comforted by William's reassuring glares- and, if you observed, you could see that beneath Albert's usual stoic expression, hid sincere feelings of love, even a hint of regret....
"We are gathered here today to witness the joining of two lives..."
After the vows were exchanged, Albert put your hand to William's, and spoke
"And now, by the power vested in me, it is my honour and delight to declare you married. Go forth and live your each day to the fullest. You may now seal this declaration with a kiss" Albert's silk voice urged you both to turn towards each other, and sharing a tender look, loosing yourselves into eachother pools of irises for what seemed an eternity, William pulled your chin slightly upwards, to gently lay his lips upon yours.  Cheers could be heard around you both, as the mathematician's brothers congratulated you.
You were so absorbed by the moment, you almost felt surprised when William left a small kiss on your rosy cheek and whispered. "Let me see your beautiful smile, lady Moriarty"
