Chapter 4

"What are you doing tonight?" Finn asked as we left the school building.

It was finally Friday and the week was now over. Finn and I were currently leaving the school building. Vanessa wasn't with us this time; she was going out on a date with her boyfriend so they were leaving school together.

Vanessa had given up with trying to get Finn out of the passenger seat of my car and accepted the fact he wasn't going to move and she was stuck in the back. I wasn't getting involved; it was up to them to decide who sat where.

"I'm not doing anything, you know that! You live with me." I laughed pushing him to the side as we walked towards my car.

"Hey. I was just making conversation! And anyway, you should show me around the area considering I don't know it so well." He answered, shoving me back as revenge for my action before.

I unlocked my car, getting into the driver's side whilst Finn got into the passenger side. "Sure, I mean I don't really know all these 'cool' places but I can show you the places that I like best." I answered, starting up the car.

"I don't mind what we do, I just don't know the area all that well so I thought maybe we could go somewhere. Maybe take a picnic somewhere or something." Finn replied, pulling down the mirror to sort out his hair. Not that there was anything wrong with it.

I shrugged. "Sure. Lemme get dressed into something more comfortable when we get home then I'll call on you when I'm ready."

"I guess I'll do the same them. Call at my door when you're ready," He answered, flipping the mirror back up. "Will your parents mind if we miss dinner with them?"

I shook my head at his question. I doubt they'd be that bothered, also the fact I'd be with Finn would make the situation better. "I doubt it."

"I'll ask them when we get back." He replied, before leaning back over to change the radio station which seemed to be becoming a habit of his.

After changing into some more comfortable clothes, I headed out of my room and to the room where I knew Finn was occupying. I had simply put on my favourite pair of jeans and a loose fitting t-shirt.

I knocked on the door in order to make sure that I didn't walk in on him changing his clothes or something. Surprisingly, I didn't have to wait long before Finn opened the door, already dressed.

"You ready to go?" I asked whilst leaning up against the doorframe with my arms crossed over my chest.

"Yep, let me just grab my jacket," He answered, turning around and heading back into the room. Finn re-appeared at the doorway a few seconds later with a leather jacket in his hands. "Ready?"

He nodded, stepping outside of his room and shutting the door behind him.

"Wanna go make a picnic up?"

I nodded a grin making its way onto my face. "Let's go!"

Grabbing hold of Finn's hand, I dragged him down the stairs and into the kitchen. Whilst he began preparing the food for the picnic, I went in search for a picnic basket. I knew we had one somewhere, my parents used to take it with us when we went out for picnics when I was little.

"Mum!" I shouted, wandering around the bottom floor of my house. I finally found her in my dad's office. She was sat on the small sofa that he had beside his desk. Her feet were propped up and she was reading a book. Today was her day off.

"Yes?" She asked, putting her book down and raising an eyebrow at me.

"Where's the picnic basket?" I asked, bouncing on my feet as I waited for her reply. I was excited to get this picnic started.
