"She messed with my mind.. " I whisper in disbelief. Just like Hydra. They're not different. Fuck that voice in my head, fuck all of this. "We're not the enemy" Steve spoke softly. Did he just read my mind? What the fuck.. I frown. "We can help you." I raise my eyes to meet his and I'm momentarily surprised by how beautiful he is.. I shake the thought away just as quickly as it came. "Help me?" I scoff. "Yes.. " Steve smiles. He's talking but I'm no longer listening, an idea is forming in my mind. No Hydra agent has ever been in the Avengers compound and survived.. I could be the exception. I could gather intel, but that would mean changing the plan entirely.
I force myself to focus on what Steve is saying. "Why are you after Bucky?" He looked at me, waiting for my answer but I lower my gaze and fidget with my fingers. Im not giving in that easy. Steve sighs. "Hey.. Bucky is proof that you can get out. You can have a normal life, all you have to do is let me in." He spoke so confidently that a weak mind would easily succumb to it, but not me. Still, for my plan to work I have to play along. I take a breath and whisper. "Hydra will come for me.. no one will be safe." I let my voice shake as I raise my head, tears filling my green eyes. He looks surprised at my words and as the tears roll down my cheeks I see his face change to concerned. "We will keep you sa--" He's interrupted as the main door swings open and in walks a man. "Alright let's take a look at this big, bad Hydra agent that kicked your ass, Rogers." Tony Stark laughed as he walked towards them. Steve stepped aside, allowing Tony a better look at me and vice versa.
I knew this man, eccentric billionaire Tony Stark, Ironman. He was annoying to say the least. He stopped in his tracks as his eyes fell to me, his mouth dropping open.
"Aurora?!" He proclaimed in disbelief. This name meant nothing to me so I simply stared at him. Steve frowned, looking back and forth between the two of us. "Tony? You know her?" Confusion lined his words. Tony inhaled sharply, tears in his eyes. "She's my sister.."
