11:52 P.M.                          (y/n's pov)

"th-this-this thing..." abi's voice was hushed, her jaw trembled and her eyes searched the woods frantically. "i-it lunged out and go-got nick down."

"okay, it's okay." i rubbed her shoulders, looking into her eyes. jacob was a few feet away helping nick on the ground. apparently a monster creature thing had attacked him, i had my skepticism but i could see how shaken up abi was over it, nick was injured pretty badly too.

"are you sure it wasn't-"

"it wasn't a bear." her eyes snapped over to me, she was serious. i nodded slowly and then stood up, walking over to nick and jacob. nick was on the ground, holding his side in pain, jacob was talking to him.

"how's he doing?" i asked, biting the inside of my cheek anxiously.

"whatever it was, it got him good. but once we get him back to the lodge, he'll be fine." jacob rubbed the back of his neck.

"back to the lodge? no, we need to get that van started and get the hell out of here." i gave jacob a confused look. he tensed up and cleared his throat.

"riiiight." he slowly spoke. he quickly pulled nick up and onto his feet, grunts of pain came from nick, but he thanked jacob and began walking with us.

abi lagged behind us, she was awfully quiet as jacob and i had been talking the whole time. i peaked over my shoulder to see her arms wrapped around her, her eyes scanned the dark forest in fear. i stopped walking and let nick and jacob go ahead, waiting for abi. she caught up to me slowly, but didn't even look at me, nor say a word when she approached.

"how are you doing?" i asked her softly. she still didn't look at me, but answered quickly.

"i'm okay." she was still on edge.

"abi it's okay. we're going back to the lodge and then we're gonna get the van started up and get home, nick's okay." she nodded and finally looked away from the trees.

"okay." she spoke softly again. i wrapped my arm around her shoulder and we continued walking down the trail. it didn't take long for abi to dry her tears and we began talking, her voice was still quiet.

"so why are you and jacob the only ones here?" she asked.

"well." i smiled, pulling back from her. "when we both left the campsite, i found him down by the docks. and he was crying and stuff."

"uh huh?" abi was more intrigued.

"and i guess he knew that i liked him, kaitlyn told him. and we were just talking and stuff and then he like... made a move on me."

"really?" abi smiled. "that's great y/n."

"yeah and we kissed... like really kissed. like i felt his body on mine, and my head was spinning but it felt really good." i chuckled, remembering the taste of jacob. abi smiled softly but it quickly fell when she heard a rustling noise out in the woods. she immediately froze and her head snapped to the trees again, this time she shook violently.

"hey y/n?" jacob called out. before i could respond though this large, hunkering creature exited the woods and stumbled out onto the trail. we all stopped and my eyes widened, it looked over at us. baring it's large, canine-like teeth at us. it's yellow eyes scanned the four of us before abi let out a shrill scream and it leaped at jacob.

he quickly tossed nick off of his shoulder, getting a loud groan from nick as he landed on his side. the creature raised it's paw and swiped jacob, he launched back in the air with a loud exhale, landing on the dirt path. it howled, lunging then towards abi and i. i held up my hand and the creature stopped it's charge, snarling and barking at me, it kept its distance from us. it's piercing yellow eyes stared at the silver chain on my wrist, and i noticed it cower to the ground. i quickly unclasped the bracelet and tossed it at the creature.
