dylan, ryan, and i walked through the woods steadily, ryan stayed closer to us this time but he still lagged behind by a few feet. we were all relatively quiet, i wasn't sure what was on their minds, but i was fearful that those hunters had called in another werewolf with the corpse from that deer and the sound of the shotgun. we were heading towards the radio cabin in hopes of calling for help.

"i hope the others back at the cabin are okay." dylan began, his voice was mumbled.

"yea, cause they're the ones in danger right now." ryan remarked sarcastically. my lips pursed as dylan looked over his shoulder and back at ryan.

"you know, we shouldn't fight right now guys." they both looked at me. i continued. "this is seriously life or death." they both stayed silent until we eventually stumbled into a clearing where multiple cabins were scattered across the grass fields. we approached the radio cabin slowly, steering clear of any big openings or trees. we eventually made it to the cabin, dylan shutting and locking the door behind us. ryan and i sighed deeply before dylan rushed over to the radio system and begin spinning knobs and pushing buttons.

"umm what are you doing?" ryan glared at dylan.

"i'm getting us out of here." dylan didn't look up from his task. ryan and i looked at each other in confusion before walking up behind dylan and watching him over his shoulder.

"so..." ryan began. "how do you know how to do all this stuff?" dylan looked back at ryan. "how do you know about these machines?"

"machines?" dylan mimicked ryan, ryan just rolled his eyes. "well, i learned this kinda stuff... just on my own, ya know?" dylan smirked at ryan, and for once, ryan smirked back. dylan brought the microphone up to his mouth and began to speak.

"hello? hello!? is anyone out there?" he paused, the radio broadcasted static. "we're stuck out here at hackett's quarry and we're in danger, someone please answer!" dylan shouted into the mic.

"are we doomed?" ryan asked, but before dylan could answer we heard a booming roar outside of the cabin. i felt my skin crawl and i lunged towards the window. a large, hulking creature trudged outside, sniffing the air and growling lowly. it was jacob, i could tell. i clutched my silver bracelet in my hand, and realized that i had to make a decision.

"dylan, get that radio working." i demanded. dylan brushed off a table and climbed onto it. "i'm going out there to buy some time."

"what?! no you are not!" ryan protested, i looked at him in determination.

"look, you guys have to get that radio working. i'll be the bait, but don't make me do this for nothing" ryan shook his head at me.

"i'll be quick y/n." dylan promised. "and don't forget this." dylan kicked the shotgun off of the table and it slid over to my feet. i snatched it up quickly, and nodded at dylan.

"no! NO!" ryan stopped us both. "guys, just stop and think for a minute!" dylan and i looked at each other before back at ryan.

"ryan, shut the hell up!" dylan yelled at him. we heard a loud thud and the cabin shook violently. footsteps clomped around on the roof, the werewolf knew we were here now. i placed my hand on the doorknob and took a deep breath, shoving the door open and stumbling outside.

i spun around on the grass, looking up towards the cabin. the creatures eyes snapped over to me, it's mouth dripped in drool. in one quick motion, it squatted on the roof and lunged up into the sky. as it came down towards me, i raised the shotgun and positioned the barrel on it. i pulled the trigger.
