BACKGROUND INFO:
Sophie, Biana, Keefe and Fitz had been best friends for their whole life, until 8th grade, where Biana and Sophie had a big falling out. Since then, Fitz and Biana made it their mission to ignore Sophie in every way possible. Keefe doesn't hate her quite as much, but goes along with whatever Fitz does. (Typical controlling Ritz Cracker)
The four haven't spoken since.

Two years later ----
Sophie POV
Sophie ran, heart racing, out of the doors of the massive theater. Dimly, she heard the music stop, people shouting her name. She didn't care. Her ongoing performance was the least of her worries. Still in her costume, she tore through the streets, rain beating down, soaking her to the bone. But she didn't care.
Nothing mattered.
Her tears mixed with the rain, and she tasted bile in her throat. Feet splashing through the puddles, she ran faster, barley making it to the bus stop in time. Squeezing through the doors, she collapsed in a seat, tucked into the far corner of the bus. Leaning her forehead against the cold window, she couldn't stop the tears from flowing.
Nothing mattered.
Not if her dad was in the hospital.

Keefe POV
Keefe sat in the hospital ward, hands on his knees, fingers laced together. Next to him, his best friend Fitz sat with his arm around his sister, holding in barley controlled sobs. His eyes never left his father. Della Vacker sat curled on a chair, her beautiful features contorted in sadness.
Alden and Grady had been driving home from a business meeting, when a runaway tuck crashed into them on an intersection. They were both in critical condition.
Keefe had been staying at the Vackers until his parents came home from a vacation. This happened a lot. Nothing new. Alden had always been kind to him, welcoming him into his house after a rough day with his parents. He was the father Keefe had never had.
Keefe didn't know a lot about Grady, only that he was Sophie's adoptive father and Alden's business partner.
Speaking of Sophie....
The door banged open. There stood Sophie Foster.
Her hair was plastered to her face, her sparkly outfit drenched. He felt his heart flutter. NOT THE TIME!
Stupid heart.
She didn't seen to even realize that him or the Vackers were in the room. She was only focused on her father. He watched as her big brown eyes brimmed with tears. Keefe's heart twisted. He hated when she was upset.
He hated not being able to comfort her even more.
He never understood why Biana and Sophie fought. Probably girl stuff.
One thing was for sure. Sophie had changed over the years. He remembered middle school.
Flashback
--------------------------
Sophie stood at her locker, putting her books away. Smiling happily, she closed the door, and turned around, only to see the two worst bullies in the school make their way towards her.
